It is more likely that something will break or go wrong than it is that it will be okay. It isn't guaranteed to break, it is likely. You could waterproof your car however.

OK do you know how to waterproof it?

you cant really water proof an rc you can make them more resistan to damage from water but its still gonnaget where its not suposed to be and cause issues.
You can seal the esc and motor to keep them from being damaged but water will still get into bearings and cause rust same with diffs and just about any other nook or crevice in the vehicle.

If it is a drifter from Exceed/Redcat, then I suppose you saw their rain drifting video. Water really isn't that much fun in an onroad car, even a drifter, will not affect performance for the better, and it is really better just not to drive it in rain and not to worry about it.
With a NiMh battery, undercharging will probably not cause any major damage, however it depends on your charger. With a wall charger you can have issues, but I have had no problems with a Duratrax charger.

buy a water proof speed controller and a waterproof box for your receiver and then just keep it out of the puddles. And be prepared for everything like bearings, hardware, axles, basically anything metal to rust.
