Clear enough Thank you. I spent almost an hour yesterday polishing the solder on the joint. Looks better than stock now It was fun and Ilearned something new.

Here's a flex shaft soldering how-to with pics: http://www.modelgasboats.com/Magazine_Content/How-to_Articles/Flex_Cable_Soldering.html

Guys, another q that came to my mind - is there any way to secure prop from falling of after flex shaft breaks? Last time I was lucky - it broke few meters from shore, idling.

Starrett I was able to grind down the coupler with a $10 grinder/polisher I bought from harbor freight. Ground the points down to about half way over the length of itand still had plenty of room for the wrench to grab. Worked good. Ran two tanks thru it and it ran great. The prop nut was slightly loose and thats it. Nothing else came loose. Tightened everything up on the engine and it ran great. Looks like I got a good setup now. In the past I've had the grim 2 blade on it but this time I tried the 3 blade metal prop and was pleasantly surprised how well it ran with that. Very fast! I think the 2 blade comes out of the water a little better though. This sure is fun and a fast litle boat! Hope I can keep it going.

Since few days I'm a proud owner of 2 (two ) SV27s nitro My neighbours are starting to hate me How can Ibuild some kind of a silencer? I read whole thread, no pictures were posted (or they are dead and not showing up). I found 1 short description that someone made silencer, but no details of where it was placed and how it was built :/
I'd be very gratefull for any hints.

I got info from Jerry D. He's suggesting AQ quiet pipe for the Vegas Deuce. AFAIK it's discontinued (AquaCraft doesn't list it on their site anymore). After some googling I found "SuperTigre Q-18 Tuned Pipe Exhaust System" (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXWPL4&P=7) and I think I'll take my chances.
If anyone knows sth about this product, please let me know.

I have a Q-18 Quiet Pipe on my SV27. Does a good job of reducing the exhaust noise decibels! Tower lists them under "Parts List" for the AQU-18 Miss Vegas Deuce for $16.99 USD.

i can't find odonnells glow plugs on Tower hobbies anymore.

what is a alternative? i don't like paying 9.00 for a plug, more like 4-5 would be nice.

P.S. - how much quieter is the SuperTigre Q-18 pipe? cause yeah the stock super V is pretty loud

The pipe won't fit in the supervee. Your right it's loud, I made a pill bottle muffler and attached it to the end of the stock supervee pipe on the rubber flange exiting the transom. All you need is brass tubing, Advil bottle, drill, and JB weld.

Below are two pictures of my SV27 with the ST Q-18 pipe installed. As I recall I had to shorten the stock SV exhaust manifold length about 3/8"and put the exhaust tubing on the pipe before I installed it. As you can see from the second picture, the boat runs well and is relatively quiet. See my above 10/18/11 post.

Awe I didn't think to do that last year. Awesome pics Beaverboy. I have the miss Vegas and she's really quiet. The pill bottle muffler works well but has to be replaced every so often on the sv. Ill make the switch to the better pipe. Are they not making the supervee nitro anymore?

We've used the Rum Racing .21 sized add-on muffler on the original Miss Vegas powered by the Aqua .18 as well as a lot of other boats. Helps tame the noise a lot. Aqua does not show the SV27 Nitro on their web site anymore so I guess they only market electric version which is faster anyway IMHO. My friend used 5000mah LIPO batteries in his and could outrun my nitro SV27 any time.

Cool I'll check out rum racing also. I heard the electric boats are fast but I still love the sound and smell of nitro. Thanks for the info Beaverboy

yeah my buddy has the traxxas brushless.....thing is definitely faster than my supervee nitro but the downside to electric is battery's

He paid 120 a piece! for the two batteries he has to run to beat the nitro.

Not too mention they only last 25 minutes at best

the nitro will go all day if you got the fuel to run it, for now I am sticking with the nitro.

The Rum Racing .21 sized add-on muffler also works well on the back of a MAC pipe as on this Fire Fighter 18.

The little FireFighter 18 rigger was built from Tom Moorehouse's plans which are available at http://www.firefighterboats.com/. I have two. Both use MV running gear except for a longer .150" drive shaft from Gary Preusse. The white boat ran well with a stock Aqua 18 & MAC pipe and now has an OS18 CV-RM. The second FF18 (Orange) is powered by a water cooled OS18 TZ & CB pipe. Runs well but can't keep up with the JAE 12 hulls powered by the same engine or an NR12. Still a fun boat to construct and run for fun.

beaverboy did you have any issues with engine work after installing Q18 pipe? I installed this pipe yesterday and it looks like it dosn't produce enough pressure in fuel tank. Engine doesn't get enough fuel and stalls.

I cloged the exhaust and issue went away, engine runs smothly. I just don't want to run the boat with a cloth in the exhaust

BTW: IMHO the simplest way to fit Q18 in SV27 is to shorten it about 10mm - it fits perfectly then.

OT: I can confirm that collet from Kintec Racing needs some lathe work to fit. Jan from KR is kind enough to do the make-over if you ask him (I had to do it localy, shipping costs are to high). Strange thing is that technical drawing of the collet on the box is proper, the actual collet doesn't look like what's drawn :/

Upgrade bushing from Kintec doesn't fit into my boat - anyone else with such issue?

And last thing - I don't recommend Octura X437/3 - GrimRacer's props are of much better quality.

I have not had any problem with pressure in the fuel tank. The attached pix (excuse the pix quality) shows where I located the pressure fitting on the pipe. As I recall I shortened the header pipe about 3/8" when I installed the Q18 pipe.

Thanks for the info. It's a similar config to mine, but I shortened the pipe itself about 10mm and used stock header pipe - fits like a charm

I'll have to enlarge the pressure screw plug with a small drill I guess.

//edit
Solved. Screw on air valve in carburator was overtightened.
I compared the noise of both pipes while troubleshooting - difference is seriously huge in favor of AQ18

//edit2
I really recommend using breakaway screws on rudder mount (http://kintecracing.com/images/nylon_screw_1.jpg) - it saved my boat yesterday - rudder went horizontal after hitting something in the water.

Good morning guys! I had a big problem , was climbing the stairs of my house, and falls, my super vee was in my hand and fell to the ground as well. Break a part of the hull by the propellers. I have the piece that broke, but do not know what glue to use. Someone i know what kind of glue would be good for these repairs? I bought it not long ago, and still not hit the correct setting it is very difficult. After I broke fix it, I will seek the help of the staff again.

Thank you.

Victor, I'd go for 5mins Epoxy, but a photo of the boat would be great to choose the best solution.
