RE: Pirotti Tuono
after you get the retracts out, also check the sides where the brass LOCK pin slides... if it is sticking out a little
on one side or both, it might be hitting the inside of the mount in the wing.. that is an Easy fix with Mr. DREMEL...!

Here's what I did. Shimmed the inside to pull the gear away from the wing skin. It barely touches now. , Pulled the gear out and thoroughly inspected it. Found loose bolts. Tightened. Lubed with a greasless lubricant. Adjusted the Jet-Tronics controller for a slight delay. All good!!!

You say the tailplanes and fin are removeable,is this straight forward todo?
Thanks

Having just built my Tuono, I must say that this is a very easy jet to build by just following the instructions. This was my first jet build.
Yes, the H. tail and V. fin are removeable. The V. fin is held on by 2 carbonfiber mounts held in place with a piece of music wire. This allows quick fin removal.

RE: Pirotti Tuono
Hi,
my Tuono is now built and is off to the painter this Saturday. I'll fit an AMT Pegasus with all multiplex radio and servos. Its a lovely plane. I'll post again when the paint is complete.

Last week I made the first flight with my Tuono: WOW
After 16 years of turbine power with scratch builds this is my first kit, very easy to build and fly. I bought this model because it is beautiful, this style catch me.
Only 2 weeks to build it (but not yet finished to paint...)
In 5 or 6 flight the setup was yet finished: cg position, dual rate, expo and mix are very easy to set.
My Tuono is 12.6 kg weight(18.2 kg with fuel) and is powered by behotec 130N thrust. Gears are from behotec.
For now I made 25 fly :I can fly over 16 minutes with about 5 liters.
Landings are at low speed, basic aerobatic figures are very easy to do, knife edge is only 45mm rudder at 3/4 thrust.
I'm really satisfied of my model!
This morning I prepared my model and, after job, I'll fly. After 16 years of jet I'm excited for it!
Some picture of my tuono , my hun and my son.

I don't know if the weight is in the range but I changed pipe, changed engine position, removed planar wood plane, very light paint (less then 0.4 kg), 2x2.2Ah lipo for radio(average consumation is 280 mA per flight, enough for 8 or 9 flight) 1.8Ah lipo for engine(210mAh per flight, enough for 5 flight),no smoke, no third tank, no ballast.

RE: Pirotti Tuono
A few more pics while the Tuono is assembled prior to fitting out. I am very very pleased with the finish and paint job. Phil Noel at Pinnacle Aviation took a great deal of trouble to work out with me how the scheme should look. He completed the job on time and was clear about and stuck to the estimate, good to do business with.
I was inspired by the surviving Sea Hawk in 806 Squadron 'Ace of Diamonds' colours, that I think flew from HMS Eagle delivering sorties over Egypt in the Suez campaign. There are not enough FAA scheme jets around, I have a Comp ARF Flash in USAF Thunderbird scheme and a Comp ARF Hawk in USN T45 colours so for this beautiful jet i wanted roundels. I take Pats comment that the Sea Hawk is possibly prettier and I guess the Tuono is more akin to a Scimitar, but 806 never flew Scimitars, and i wanted to relive the scheme.
I will now start fitting her out; AMT Pegusus turbine, Multiplex Digi 5 HV servos, Multiplex Pro 16 RX's with GPS telemetry, Power Box Cockpit SRS. I'll post completed pics on the Tuono build thread. Hopefully she will be ready to fly in public at the JMA meet Long Marston in July.
