Default (PILOT PLANS) SKY LOOP 404 ENGINE

Hello
I am building a Sky loop 404 plane, (Pilot Plans)
Wingspan 561/2 inches
Length 371/2 inches
Weight 70-80oz.
Wing Area 511 sq.inches
My question is, I think the plans are about 20 years old. On the plan box it states,

4 STROKE FOR 35-45 CLASS,
OS 40FS
Enya 35,40-4c
Saito FA-40,45

Not sure which engine to go with, are the later model engines more powerfull than the engines from 20 years back.
Am thinking of going with the OS 40 Surpass or the OS 30 Surpass?
What do people think???
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

The older four strokes are a bit lighter on power then there newer brothers. Quite a bit. Any of the new four strokes in the .40 to the .50 range should be great in your plane.
