Another JMA success, great work by Jamie and Roger with help from the local club and especially Pat Barnes, who worked very hard to sort the site and storage. Big thank you to Dizz and all who worked on the flight line. Looks like we all had a great time...fabulous site..V Jealous. Left my camera in the office when I unloaded the van, so will post pixs tomorrow. We hope to do the same May 2013.
Thank you to the club who allowed us to take over.

Really good day - Jamie, Dizz, Pat & Rog Kilbey...many thanks for laying this superb meeting on!
Gongrats to Iceman White on a well deserved Top Gun win - even more so as the competition was very, very good...it must have been a nightmare for the judges to make a final decision! (I spose I'm going to have to humm 'Take My Breath Away' every time I call for you for the next year then Geoff?!)
As ever, brilliant to renew aquaintances with everybody and fantastic to spend time with Pete Nye, Andy Aldridge (despite the usual abuse from The Captain!) and The Animal, and it was good to see David Gladwin and his Bobcat - back permanently on the UK jet scene.
Got a few pics to show but RCU's screwing abt again, so maybe they'll upload later.
Cheers,
Dick

Guys, all I can say is THANK YOU !!!! Was nice to come back to the turbines after the good old days aoff St.Athan and catch up with old faces. Wonderful flying site, wonderful weather and even better company managed 5 flights on the Saturday with the trusty F15 which was once again was forced to earn its keep. Count me in next year for sure! All the best.

I can only reiterate the thanks to Jamie, Pat and Dizz for all their hard work to make the weekend a fantastic success.
As for my weekend, I really enjoyed the flying of both my Hunter and UL but special must be made of a few others - I thought the scale flying and models of Mark Schroeder, Dean Jackson, Keith Barnes, Mark Hinton and Mick Burrell were all superb. Also great to see the Jet rebel and Nick Smith enjoying their bandits so much. And lets not forget the flying machine that is Steve Elias who had countless faultless flights with his Ultra Bandit.
Must also thank Roger Kilbey and Paul Leighton for helping me out when the nose wheel steering servo packed up on Saturday.
Really the Top Gun competition is a minor part of the weekend as the main emphasis is on fun, which I think everyone had their fill of.
Onwards to Long Marston next on July 14th and 15th.

Big thanks to everyone who made this event happen, had a great time meeting people and catching up with friends.
The site is simply incredible, surely the best in the UK. The standard of the models, flying and reliability was very impressive too.
Very big public thank you to Jamie C for sorting me out some more fuel when time/circumstances/no stock leading up to the weekend found me a bit low, THANK YOU Jamie.
Oh, and well done Geoffrey

Best weekend of the year so far ! What a great site and top organisation from Jamie and the club. Lots of fun and banter, such a relaxed atmosphere and to top it all lovely weather ! Really couldn't have asked for more. Burned 50 litres of hero and enjoyed every second !
Very well done to Geoff, Steve E and Dave W - although Chairman of the JMA winning the scale flying at a JMA event - its a fix - we was robbed !
Great to catch up with everybody

Just cos you managed a whole weekend without reversing your ailerons and left without doing too much damage, your jealous
Watching the flying, I think the judges would have had a hard time, there was lots of good flying. My guess on the scale thing and full size pilots judging, they were picky!

Got to say what a great weekend, loved the flying, loved the site, would say love the people but that sounds a bit strange, but I think you know where I’m coming from!
Fletchers Speed 2 is so wrong for all the right reasons (4 minutes of death I think he called it)!
The organisation was fantastic with a seamless two days of flying! So a big thank you to Jamie, Dizz, Pat, Roger and anyone else I have missed!
I think I could have just sat there and watched the flying and not flown myself, the standards were so high, and the winners were well chosen! I would just like to say that Geoff’s show flying the week before was fantastic, the man’s completely relaxed![8D]
I’ve got to buy a bigger Jet now, and you are all to blame, so I hope you are proud of yourselves!

I would like to reiterate the thanks to everyone involved tin the organisation of the event – well done. Thanks to Jason for safely landing my new toy after me having no air in the system to bring the retracts down.
Thanks to Dizz for a bacon bap at lunchtime.
Is the next event Classic Jets on 22-June?

Glad everyone enjoyed the weekend! Weather was on our side, some fantastic models and some great flying. Worthy winners of the trophies - congrats to Dave, Steve and Geoff! It was great to catch up with everyone - banter levels were huge, which made it excellent fun when not flying! Big thanks to everyone for their support and particularly the JMA for all the background work that makes this event so smooth. I just help to oil the right wheels, which is the easy part!
Good news is that we are already pencilled in for next year and that feedback regarding noise complaints is fairly minimal at the moment. as I said to the Station boss - just tell the whingers that it's the sound of freedom - in miniature! The best thing about the weekend is that we raised some good money for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the proceeds of which will go towards helping our boys in blue as they get rehab from serious and life changing injuries sustained in Afghanistan and other operational theatres. Thanks again to everyone who attended. Looking forward to the next Merryfield meeting already!
PS - Apologies to Tancock for being so successful in 'Operation Deny Bandit'! I have one for sale if you want it badly enough - not sure you can afford it though!
