Hello Peter,

I apologize for taking so long to get back to this!

The AirWorld F-100F kinda pushed it's way ahead of the A-4, so I decided to finish the Hun. The A-4 will be back on the table in the coming weeks. My remaining issue is getting the hydraulic nose steering to function properly and reliably.

I did take Cg and surface throw measurements directly off of Andreas' A-4 at CA Jets earlier this year, which will be great help once I reach that point.

Have a Big Issue with my Comp ARFA4.
My Fuselage is ser number 7811011006101, and my wing sets are 7812010807102, both tail and main wing.
And of course they do not fit or bolt in place. Was wondering if any one else had a missmacthed kit?

Not sure what you mean by "do not fit or bolt in place"? Other than the two halves are not completely pushed together, I don't see the problem. Maybe you just need to trim the dowel or adjust the socket a bit?

the detail on the CARF a-4 looks super ! !I wish CARF had put as much time into the detail in their P-47 .. great plane, however i will need to go over and redo most if not all of the surface details to look as good as this...

Here is an update on our build. We (Bill White is my builder) decided that the rudder was not to scale so we have made these modifications. We are also changing the location of the hinges on the elevators to more closely reflect the full scale bird.

If you look at the full scale verses the model, the model rudder tapers from the front to the back (it's hollow, being thicker at the leading edge toward the front of the aircraft and then tapers back to a point). The full scale bird uses a steel plate (solid plate) with ribs. Its not tapered at all. I'll post some pics for comparison.

Yes, Comp Arf. I have one almost ready to fly and a kit ive been building on. The steering and leaks is what have kept me from flying so far. The radio is completely setup, i just cant get steering to be reliable enough yet. I think I just decided to change over to electric gear and actuators for doors and speedbrakes. tired of chasing leaks. steering is tricky.

hello fellow builders
i have started mine one week ago!
so far had worked on the wings:
l/g installed
doors working
have replaced the "live hinge" of the main gear door for a proper hinge made of several small du-bro dinges running through a single piano wire(looks great and works perfectly
slats working
flap and spoiler working too
pictures to follow
i would like to know other builders progress!
all the best
Fred

nose gear rails holes came wrong from C-arf. i have glued dowels on the wrong holes, added a 3,5 mm pc board on the top for reinforcement made new matching holes.
gear door assembled and ram installed.
small back door came cut undersized, we had to cut more form the fuse (approx 1" to the back) to allow the gear ram exit without fuselage interference.
