RE: PIPER TOMAHAWK -Messer Plans
Sorry guys this plane has not yet been completed. I do still have the project and plan on working on it again come February. I have been building a full scale airplane that is almost complete then it will be back to the Tomahawk. SteveD-RCU - did you build a Ziroli Dc-3 a few years back ?

Here is the Tomahawk that was built several years ago. It was found for sale on ebay and we have rebuilt this model. I designed this plane in the 80's.carved the plug etc. and flew mine for eleven years. Don Limbocker made the mold.sold several kits over the years. We will fly this model soon. This particular plane was made by Bud and Joe Zimmerman around the 80's as well. Mel.

I do not remember the fuse length off hand but it is about 6 feet. Don sold the cowl to Jim Messer for his kit. The wing is 100 inches. Those were the days before 2 peice wings which I would definately do nowadays. After 11 years I sold mine. I flew it with a Quadra 35 actually 2 of them as I wore one out. John Bayshore a long time buddy of mine got the plane from a friend of his off ebay as I mentioned. We intend to fly it sometime soon because John lives about 60 miles away. Mel.

Steve. See dddtong.com/tomahawk. This was the first flight. I raised the nose gear so it sits just a bit positive and now it takes off straight. Mel.

Okay everybody it has been a very Long time since my last post. Life got busy and I had to put this project aside for awhile. I decided it was time to pull the Tomahawk from the rafters and get it finished. Last week I sheeted the fuselage and managed to figure out a servo mount in the tail and get it mounted.

Update from this weekends progress . I finalized my tail servo mount and linkage and sheeted the vertical , Installed the horizontal permanently , and mounted and finalized the wing center section as well as main landing gear and nose wheel. On to sheeting and shaping the rudder .
