Default Hyper .28 opinions?

Seen a few Hobao Hyper .28 3 port engines on special lately and I need a new truggy engine. Are they ok? Heard they are a good upgrade to the notsogood Macstar .28.
Any help welcome

What negative things have you heard about the Mac* .28? I have one and it runs like a champ. Just curious.

Thanks

Have you considered an OS or R&B engine?

Just from a few people at my club that only got a few litres out of them before they seized/broke.

RB are not what they once were. They're still good engines, but the spark left along with Rody Roem. Rody Roem's new enterprise is called TecnoPower. By all accounts they are pretty sick engines.

Hyper engines are very good in my experience. I have no experience with that particular one, but I've had several hyper .21s of various numbers of ports and all have been solid. The old 8 port was a goddam screamer, what a mill. Don't get me wrong, it's not a v-spec or anything, but they're solid.

TechnoPower is out of business. Good engines, but it's goodby for Rody at this point.

"The TecnoPower company had to close its activity since December 2011! and for the one's who are interested or still looking for some TP products, we have put in place this store so you can still buy what is leftover of our previous inventory."

Straight from their site. They're on sale at 30% off, shipping from Italy costs a fortune though, and you would still end up paying close to retail.
