Hey steve, just stumbled onto this thread. Pretty interesting, I am thinking of building this one since it is available:

http://www.topnotchkits.com/index_files/TN_Kit6.htm

I am a dedicated glow/gas man, but a nice electric would be cool to build. But still, a pair of 4-strokes would sure sound cool. Anybody build this one yet?

Will

Wow, Thanks Will for posting the kit information! I wasn't aware of the Top Notch kit. Electric is cool but I'd install a couple little two strokers on this baby!

Hello Steve,
I can't find the build thread. Is it in the WattFlyer forum?
Thanks,
Mike

It's been a while since anything has been said in this thread. Well i finally got my own hobby room, and to make some room pulled the Shrike out of the box it's been in, and will start the buils shortly. Contacted the person who bought the company that makes the foam cores with the washout in them. I have a few questions. Those of you who used the new foam cores, did you use plywood or balsa to sheet them? Some of you mention that you were going with the new way of mounting the servos in the wing, does anybody have pictures of the installation? Which retracts work best? I have a old set of Rhom Airs already modified for the 90 degree rotation, I wonder if I should get them modified to electric?

Nice to see some activity on this thread again! Hope to get my Shrike kit on the building board sooner or later. Mine will have K&B 61's with counter rotating props. I already have the engines. The counter roting version was a lucky find. I don't have the retracts yet. Now I forget which retracts are shown on the plan. I think the front is a Dubro mechanical and mains are air operated. Robart I guess.
