It's time once again to join us in celebrating Warbrds of all types at the PMAC Warbird Festival on Saturday, June 16th, 2012.

All warbirds are welcome. WWI, WWII, Jet Era, Nitro, Gas, or Electric, if it's a warbird it flys..... Be polite, enjoy the camaraderie of warbird pilots, and show off your winters creations !!!

Our field features a well manicured grass runway approximately 600ft in length.

Pilots Choice Awards.

Lunch Provided with Donation.

For those with dummy ordnance, we have ground targets available for you to try to hit.

Looking like I'll be able to make it this year. I see you and at least one more guy in your area have Top Flite P-40s, well so do I now. I picked up a 60 sized ARF for $200, expect it to be ready by then. Using E-power. Sold my Me-108, but still have plenty to bring (P-47, P-51, Corsair, B-17 + P-40 by then, all 60" or larger).

BTW: is there camping at that state park? Have travel trailer/ toy hauler, will travel.

Great!!! Love to see you there again! Yup, we have a couple of TF P-40's flying in the club and a rebuilt H9 P-40. You'll enjoy this video I shot of the P-40's last year for AluminumOvercast. He edited it into a really cool video. Be sure to watch it full screen and with the volume up.

Our portion of the park is off by itself so I'm not sure about camping. I will check and let you know.

Hi Guys,

Tom had asked me about trailers at our field so I did some double checking since I don't tow a trailer but have seen many there. I wanted to be sure to give correct info.

Here's a copy of my response to Tom.

I just got off the phone with the Michigan DNR Passport Sticker Office that provides the stickers.

They said that a trailer being towed is allowed in with the vehicle that's towing it. No additional sticker is needed.

I knew we had lots of trailers just wasn't sure if they had anything special to get in. Nope. Just the sticker on the tow vehicle.

Here's the info for the DNR Passport call center. Open 9 AM to 6 PM weekdays at (517)241-PARK (7275).

So you guys are official, good to go, cleared for take off, ready for action, and any other cliche you can think of !!! lol or my personal favorite linked here. lol

My P-40 won't be ready either, summer came quickly this year, so the building season ended early. I WILL have my bomb dropping Top Flite P-47 (still has 2 'fuel' tank too, thanks to your club), Top Flite Mustang, and 7 year old Hangar 9 Corsair, and maybe my Easy Tiger B-17, but I am HOPING to have a nice finish on it by then.

I didn't realize it at the time, but apparently, a couple of guys with bi-planes from PMAC participated on my club's Memorial Day Warbird Show. Sorry about the weather: it was HOT, and WINDY. Despite the very nasty crosswinds, no aircraft were seriously damaged that day.

If the tank breaks we laugh and cheer!!

I'm breaking in my Stuka today, maybe it'll fly in time to make the event.

First gasser so I'm learning what I didn't know I needed to know...

So far so good. I tend not to fly too much at our WBD as I'm doing too much other stuff. If I can do a few laps and let another club member take off and land for me it allows me to get some stick time in.

Those WWI bipes are very familuar. I didn't know Dave and Curt attended a Memorial Day Event. Cool. I have a Dr-1 for later this summer to fly with them. Man, I'm behind in my builds.

Spent most of my 'working time' on my P-47: gave it a brand new cowl. The biggest problem with the old one: the 6 mounting holes had wallered themselves out from the mounting screws, it was still attached but very loose. The old one also had a few scratches and cracks, but I would have left it on had it not been for the enlarged holes. This was a time consuming tack, because all of the (new) mounting holes had to be aligned with the pre-existing holes in the mounting blocks. But, it's done: 1 bomb dropping 'Tank Buster' ready for action.

Never got to work on the B-17. It flies, but bomb dropping doesn't work, and it has no markings on it. If I find room to squeeze it in, I'll bring, but won't make any special effort.

I will also be bringing my electric powered TF Mustang and H-9 Corsair, as well as my Hobbico FW-190. And MAYBE, a LITTLE 4 engined surprise.

Got the canopy packed up the camera batts charged...A P-47 al charged up ready to go..and a brand new 500mm lens for the Nikon. Look for the guy with the canon sticking out the front of his camera and come by and say hi!

Hi Guys,


Here's the video from the PMAC Warbird Festival.

We had flyers from all over the state join us for a great day of flying and celebration of all things warbird.

CorsairJock took advantage of our "Target Tank" and made multiple passes at it all day long. He started to really get the hang of it and had hits closer than 1ft by the end of the day !!!

Thanks to everyone that attended and we hope to see you on the flight line soon !!
