World's First Flying SPAD Jet
Someone built a SPAD jet years ago but as I recall, it never flew.
At this year's annual SPADfest held in Newton, Iowa one of the club members decided to build one and flew it throughout the entire week and weekend despite the windy conditions:

In case anyone is interested, I believe the jet is for sale too.

Just one of the Awesome things that happened at SPADfest this year. What a beautiful week of fantastic weather. Burned over a gallon of glow fuel alone and the better part of a gallon of Gas mix. Literally flew the tail off my Flipper, darn thing was going so fast.
This a big jet and it was cool to watch go.

not quite the worlds first Spad Jet...Andrew Coholic flew one back in Aug '03...
Still, this is a good pioneering effort...seems to fly very nicely!

I concur with Wayne, not the 1st. That said, there's a very high probability that its the 2nd in the world, since I can't think of many that would do this!
I wonder if I have a photo of Andrew's 'SPAJet' somewhere...

Hey Guys.... I did indeed fly my Spadjet with my home built Wren MW54 back in 2003/2004... and believe it or not I still have the airframe after all these years. I have an older RAM 750 I might put on it and get it back into the air some day. MAybe for the 1oth Anniversary at Wingham Jets next year??
I do not have a photo, since I have changed computers 2X since then and lost my photos. But, if someone really wants to see it I can take photos of the airframe. Its in storage in my woodworking shop.
Memories!

No videos of this fabled first spad jet?
Everyone knows you can't trust those Canadians. What, with their beady eyes and flapping heads!
At least we can call it the first American Spad Jet.
