The E Z ARF models are amazing looking! I have a brand new in the box Zero 45 and a P-51D Mustang! Never even been out of the bags and as new as day 1. I also have the retracts for both. If anyone wants to buy them......... shoot me an email @ [email protected]

I can't bring myself to build and keep them on the ground, and don't want to crash them because of how rare it would be to replace them........ So they live in my basement in their boxes.

Got an old Laser 200 from an old timer. I was about to sell for couple of bucks but then i saw this thread. I just realized that this kit is rare.
I didn't even know that the brand is " EZ" until Isaw one you have exactly the same Laser 200 as mine except mine is RED(turning orange - I told you it's really old).

Now, I'm planning to revive it. What should I do with the color?!?I just can't take it. Can I put paint on top?! Or cover it with monokote?! I'm just not sure if covering
is possible because it has a foam outside layering.

2nd, I have no idea how to mount my OS .61FX with the mount it came with.

The mount is like 10mm off. I'm not sure how you guys did it!

I'll post pictures soon. It's still in my Mom's house catching webs and dust.

Ibelieve there are two metal strips that bolt to the engine and then bolt to the mount.

Thanks... so how thick should it be?!?

I'm just wondering if could still keep the centerline with that metal strip? Assuming it's 3mm... plus the small gap. that would be like 5mm off center?

The gap in the mount is for clearance for the nuts. The plates were aproximatley 1/8" thick... and aproximately 1" wide. They had slotted holes so you could set the width relative to the engine you used. They bolted into the two holes on each beam on that mount. Then you set your engine on top of those....made the necessary alignments and marked the plates with the position of the holes from your engines mounting lugs.

Now it's making sense...

When I got this plane, it didn't come with those two metal sheets.. So I think I have to find it somewhere.

Thanks a lot!! I'll post pictures soon!

Hi!

Here's my EZ Laser 200

Got it second hand (with this condition).... and just realized it's rare. Any thoughts of how to bring back its original color?! Thinking of repainting it.. is possible?!

Also having problems with its very brittle plasic canopy.

I had one just like it! Even had my high school senior photos taken with it...

Wrecked mine long ago, but still have a new, uncut cowl if you happen to need one. As for the color, that's too bad; looks like sun fade. Maybe a coat of red paint, but masking all the graphics would be a nightmare, and these planes didn't need any additional weight!

Thanks! I don't mind with the additional weight... I might also give up the graphics!!! But I might also defeat the purpose of reviving it. I'm confused!

I remember wanting one of those Supraflys! Had a BL Laser and a Dago Red P51; was pretty addicted to the EZ line at the time

Looking at that add, we are pretty spoiled today: you can get some really nice ARF's for $500 now!

You sure can get some nice ARF's for that money now, but I still have never found an ARF that was nicer than the Zero 45 or the P-51D Mustang that they put out then.
I wish they still were in buisness. I'd pay the extra money again and still, no problem.

I had 3 of them a looooong time ago. Had an Extra 230, a Cessna and a Piper Cherokee which I still have but it's been in a crash. I just can't part with it. [] The thing had an O.S. .32F on it and was a rocket!

Well.....finally got it all finished up and flown with the OS 32SX..
What a screamer. Definately too much power but great when you can do vertical rolls while still climbing.

It looks fine the way it is. Cover any crack neatly with clear tape, set it up to fly and fly it. if it survives, you have a vintage EZ that everyone recognizes and knows what it is. If you paint it and make it look like something else, it will take away from the EZ vintage model that it so very much looks like now. All EZ's are heavy and fragile, the older the more so.
Here is what happened to my Dallas Doll. Little bit aft CG, no forgiveness.

Actually this is the culmination of three assembled airplanes Ive bought at various swap meets and used varying parts to turn into one clean one. Was hoping it'd turn out ok and has so far. I still have a new in box kit which although Ill be honest.....I cant remember who from but must have been you :-)
I actually plan on assembling that one soon with an O.S. 35AX because I have one.
Would buy yours from you so I could have a spare if you decide to part with it someday.
Funny you come to Visalia.....know many people from there. Pop into our field when you come through. Where on the Farm show grounds north parking lot. You can see people flying from the freeway right after you pass the airport and see the electronic sign on the right just look that direction and if anyone is in the air you'll see them.

If someone has a Electric Great Planes Reactor biplane arf kit(or something similar) kicking around............... I would be happy to trade them for my BNIB OK Model Company EZ P-51D Mustang. No point in me building it and flying it since I would be heartbroken if it didn't go well. Better for me to trade for an ARF that's still produced.
