Default SAVOX Servos

The local hobby shop turned me on to these servos. I have been really impressed with this servos so far. They have a Futaba spline, so you can use your existing servo horns. I am using the 1030-SG, coreless digital servo on the rudder of my VF3. The torque on 6 volts is 500oz at .16 speed. The cost $74.00,..works great guys, just food for thought for the budget conscious.

I've been using them all round on my Wind S 110, they're fast and strong!

That's good to know,..Think I will put the 1230's in my two old 40%'s and see how they hold up.

I was running the 1258's on ailerons and rudder, but they're complete overkill on the ailerons. Oh well.

I've taken to refitting some of my smaller glow models with the 1257's (low profile) and they're brilliant. A simple exchange from a JR 591 to a savox 1257 was a quantum leap.

Hi.
Torque and speed is one thing that is always stated in the specification, and is always quoted for comparison.
But how about accuracy, (precision, deadband and repeatability), how do these servos compare to equivalent futaba and JR servos?

Before the savox went into the wind, i was using 8411's and 8231's in my last pattern plane. Personally i think they have the edge on 8411's and blow the 8231's away.

As a bit of a random test it might be worth pulling my rudder servo out of my plane and making a test bed to check its centering after about 250 flights.

The resolution is listed by Savox to be 1 part in 4096 and the deadband is listed as 5 microseconds.

for resolution I get 200 degree max travel/ 4096 steps = 0.05 degrees resolution

1600 microseconds max / 200 degrees travel max = 8 microseconds per degree. Deadband is 0.6 degrees.
