Wow, I guess everyone is busy Flying and not building.

Nice!

The video guy actually did a pretty good job. I've seen worse on YouTube.

Your 310 looked tail heavy in the air after take off. Being a 310 builder I know you had the CG right so what was happing in the air?

Landing looked good.

Are the fuel tanks centered on the CG or aft of it?

Actually it was very Hot and humid, So motors were not pulling full rpm's
I had to pull it up to avoid the tree line, but looking at the video I had more room
then I though. I might up the motor to G38"s for more power. This weigh's in at 32Lbs
Fuel tanks are foward of the CG right behind the motors. And yes the Cg is close a
tad nose down when balanced. Cliff

I've been doing alot of flying myself trying to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Unfortunately I had a crash last Friday so I've been doing some repairs to the damaged aircraft when I'm NOT flying.
I can't wait to get back to my 310, I just don't want to be tied down in the shop with all this nice weather going on outside. Flew my twin on Fathers Day and WOW she was running good!

Yep not much going on in the shop's at this time of year, to nice to stay indoors
while the sun is shinning and the winds are soft and light. Glad to see your efforts
rewarded with a great maiden.

Now for some more serious stuff, it is with great regret that I am selling my G & L
NIB fiberglass fuselage with the tip tanks and engine nacelles. With the economy in
a downward spiral I am finding it harder to spend what I have been spending from the
monthly budget on my modelling activities. So if any one in the club is interested
send me an e-mail and we will do some haggling to get it to a new home.

This isn't saying that I am totally abandoning building another Nosen Cessna 310, it's
just not practical at this time to continue gathering materials and accessories for an
airplane that might just not happen. The club will continue as it has in the past and I
will make every effort to make it to continue to grow in the future. It was and is my love
for this aircraft that keeps the passion going.

I have been reserching engines for this 310. there are alot of choices as we know. the problem I see on this one is I will have to make a firewall mod. to acommadate any engine. This is built to planes and there doesen't seem to alot of clearance from firewall to cowling. I sure don't want the prop hub sticking out 1 1/2 to 2 in. infront of the cowl, so the firewall will have to be setback. I know this bird needs something is the 30cc range. i have been looking at the dle 30 and the mvvs 35 gas and also the moki (mark)g180 gas. the last two could be mounted sideways to fit inside the cowl. I can make the exhaust fit inside the cowl also. So it would be a clean install. I know it's flying time and yes I am flying alot, but I can't help thinking about the 310 and brain storming the whats and hows and the when and the fun of putting it together and flying it. All my other biids are flying great and it's time to start this project. any help would be great.

I am going the same way with the DLE 30cc gas engines. I have one now on a Pitts and it is a great little motor. My 310 will have a built up wing and hope to get the fiberglass fuse after I save up a bit. Robart retracts will make if look like it should. Hope I can find someone willing to let a wing kit go, that would be great!

The firewall is liquid. By this I mean you move it forwards or back to fit your engine. The Nosen 310 was designed around .60 two stroke engines so yeah Your going to have to move that wall back in the design if you want to run gassers in it.

On the gassers you may want to design a box system that the 3D guys seam to like.

I'm going to run side mounted G-2300 23cc glow engines in mine. My problem is going to be the G-2300's 24 oz fuel tanks.

I guess you guys will be running 10 or 12oz tanks for your gassers.

30 cc would fly this the 310 with authority, I have 25cc Converted Homelite Bandits on mine.
I am redesigning the Mufflers now to inprove the exhaust exit. I have a little too much back pressure
which limits the RPM's once that is done she will fly a lot better. Don't have any 30cc motors
a couple of quadra 42's in other planes , but there are a couple at our field and they run great.
Fuel wise I have my tanks right behind the motors mounted sideways and they are 18oz each
more then enough Fuel with reserve for a 10 to 15 minute Flight. Keep us informed of your progress.

I have been thinning out my giant scale collection getting ready to start on my 310 this fall. Twin 30cc DLE, retracts and the glass fuse. Looking forward to joining the pilot ranks on this beutiful bird. I have been modeling for over 50 years and I finally am going to take th plunge while I can still lift the parts!

You all have inspired me to a point I can no longer resist! I do not think I can devote the time to a full build thread but I can highlight the construction process. I am sure that the input from everyone would prove invaluable.

I will be posting the sale of my Nosen 310 Kit and G & L Fiberglass. I am totally overwhelmed with large scale kits and unfortunately the 310 is not at the top. I went on a buying spree the last few years and over did it. Time is moving on too quickly for me and I am making very little progress on my current projects. Please let me know if there is any interest in the kit and/or the G&L fiberglass fuse and other parts. I would like to see this get into the hands of someone who can get this built and flown. The 310 is one of my favorites but the kit and G&L parts will just gather dust.

I will keep monitoring the thread to see how all of the others are doing.

Not I. My 310 project is four planes out.
1 Ultra Hots
2 Giant Sweet'N Low Stick
3 1/4 scale Super Cub
4 Cessna 310

Oh and a 18,000 btu AC for the garage. 98 degrees is ridiculous.

I've started my 310 build months ago and then flying season hit, so it's on hold for now. Have some other small projects before getting back to the build. I also need to clean up my hanger/build area to make room for this huge airframe.

Hi All

Well I finally desided on the engines I am going to put in the 310. The Mentor 33cc. I like the three year warrenty.
I got them and I now in the process of breaking one of them in on my airplane. What a sweet motor and lots of power.
I haveto move the firewall back and then try to place the gas tank and servo for the engine. It's guna be fun putting 4 lbs of Sh in a 2lbs space
but I will make it work.

Not sure if I will side mount or inverted. Depends on how much I would have to cut out the cowl for cooling on side mount.
haven't looked at it that close yet.

BTW.. How come your not out flying???
