Default Adjustable voltage 18V PSU

Any of you guys know if anyone has built their own PSU with adjustable voltage output to 18 Volts? Also what flux or solder do you guys recommend for soldering on connectors for battery leads, etc.? Ordered a charger but needs voltage > 16A for maximum charging capabilities. Thanks.

Default RE: Adjustable voltage 18V PSU

The only adjustable PSU I've ever built was a linear type (large heavy mains transformer and multiple pass transistors for output regulation). For the current you want, a switching type would be far smaller/lighter. It would likely be cheaper and easier to just find a switching supply that has the voltage and current you need.

Assuming your charger can handle 24v-28v, I would just get a couple of 12v server power supplies and put them in series for 24v.
