Default Need 80cc engine.

Hello looking for some help! I am building a Hanger 9 Extra 33% and it calls for a 80cc engine. There are a few out there but don't want to spend a arm and a leg. Does anyone know of any good 80cc engines out there?

Wonder if DLE will come out with one? They are getting ready to release a twin 55.

If you convert the Zenoah GT-80 to RCXcel ignition, you would have a good combination and a smooth running twin.

I would go DA 85. The GT 80 is going to be a bit too heavy.

The GT-80 is a bit heavy, but will fly the plane and and this combo is sold by Horizon. he's trying to save $$. If $$ is not an issue, go with the DA.

I had a ZDZ80 in mine back when you could purchase it for less than $500. Unfortunately I crashed after 30 flights(pilot error)

BME 110. Less weight than an 80 and more power. Its a twin so it will be way smoother than the big shaking single cylinders.

The 80 is smoother than the 116. More like a 50. Weight is not the only criterium to judge an engine by. Displacement needs a certain prop. Not all planes have unlimited acceptance for overly large prop sizes. (ground clearance, torque reactions, P-factor)
I guess by your reaction that you never ran an MVVS 80.

Thanks for all the info! I am a little worried about ground clearance as well don't want to limit that at all. Also weight want to keep it down to. Been looking at the ZDZ thinking this may be the way to go.

These have a good following so far on FG. I think it includes a pitts muffler, but I'm not positive about that.

I would not use the Zenoah 80, too heavy for the H9 Sukhoi. Use the recommended Evolution / MVVS 80 its a stump puller and it runs smooth. High quality engine and installation is very easy in that model I have one.
