Default Motor's and Esc's.

Iam fairly new to rc cars but not to rc and Iam looking to build a kit to better my knowledge of rc cars. Before Ibuy any thing I have a quick esc and motor combatability question.
Can I take a brushless car motor and hook it up to a plane esc?

Please reply back with new insight. Thanks.

Usually not. A plane ESC has no brake and often no reverse either.

Depends. It would probably work, but there are factors you need to consider. How many amps is the ESC rated at? How large is your motor? Does the ESC have reverse or a brake (which you will likely want)? All of these things are questions you need to ask yourself. Yes, it will work if its a brushless ESC and brushless motor, but you need to answer these questions to find out how "well" it will work.

Thanks
I didn't even think about braking and reversing. I would have been lost trying to hook it up and having it not work right.
