Best do it all battery charger?
Looking for a battery charger that charges all types of batteries and charges at least 2 batteries at a time. I would like it to be able to discharge, charge and balance. I also want to turn it on and forget about it. I dont want to have to worry about over charging If I forget its on. Thanks.

I've been using my Superbrain 989 for two years going strong, now. I love it for both my lipos and nimh. it's an excellent charger. it also comes with a more than adequate power supply. it stores 24 battery profiles. it charges pretty much every kind of battery you'd ever use in this hobby.

Ok guys, I've got it down to 3 choices. MRC Super brain 989, hyperion EOS 0606i AD-B, or protek iCharger 106B+. Which one do you guys think and why? Thanks again.

RE: Best do it all battery charger?
I'm just getting into electrics and I have a lot to learn, but I'll nevertrustthe Schulze chargers. About 5-6 years ago, a friend of mine was using a Schulze Chameleon (the best one they had at the time) to charge his packs that cost about $700/pack. It was for his large twin turbine EDF. The packs were new, this was the first charge, and it poofed one pack. After watching that, it took me this long to get into electrics. The chargers now are practically idiot proof, which is what I really need. I would think what they ask for that charger, even back then, it should have had some better auto protection, just my 2 cents.

I have a few chargers, the one Ilike the most is this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXAGTS&P=ML
Here's the power supply Iown, keep in mind they sale the same charger as above just a few $ more, Iordered the charger and power supply at the same time. http://www.commonsenserc.com/product...7rmkua84101gd3
The nice part about the dual and even quattro chargers is if your charging smaller packs (lower then 50watts) then it will knock them out with the quickness, but if your charging packs at avaluegreater then 50watts then a individual charger with a higher wattage output may actually be faster becausemajority of the dual and quattro chargers are 50watts max per channel. One thing Ihave is a multiple charge adaptor in which Iuse with my single port charger, so when Icharging my smaller flight packs I can charge multiple at a time. Charger adaptors are typicall less then $10usd
Here's some options:

When selecting a charger the wattage rating is the most important. You may be able to charge 2 at the same time, but the charging amps maybe so low it would be quicker to charger one at a time with certain chargers. Also depends on what type of packs your charging.
Wattage = volts x amps.
So if you want to charge a 2s 5000mah pack a 1c (5amps) it would be about:
8.4v x 5a= 42watts
4s 5000mah pack at 1c (5amps) would be about:
16.8v x 5 = 84watts
