Got a call from my girl today to say that she had went and ordered me a new truck,

She was gonna keep it a surprise until it arrived but the moment I answered the phone she
Couldn't not tell me,

So I now have a new xs ss kit on its way to me,
I don't want to be putting heaps of coin into a brushless combo,

But at the same time I don't want it lacking power,

It will only be running 2s 5200mah 40c packs as that is what I already run on my savage flux hp,

What motor kv should I be looking at? Esc amp?

Also anyone know the dimensions of motor I should be looking at, and what shaft size?

Hope some body can help me out, soon as the truck arrives I want to get it built,

Thanks.

Castle 1410 3800kv. Or the Castle Mamba Max Pro...6s capable with the 3800kv motor
The Mamba Max Pro is capable of 4s, not 6s. You're thinking of the Mamba Monster. And the 3800kv motor has a 3s maximum.

Well the esc is capable. The combo was just a suggestion of a BL system. I mentioned 6s in case he didn't know.

Thanks guys,

I went and ordered this
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKYRC-TORO...item4602792973

And one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SKYRC-TORO...item46028fed2e

I'm running this esc's big brother, turnigy trackstar 150A esc on my 1/8 flux along with the hp tork motor and I've had no issues at all with it,

I already have the programming card that will work on the 80a esc also,

Looking forward to my items arriving to get started building my kit

Huh, can't seem to find any. They are nice, good shocks though, so if you find some, grab 'em.

I just sold mine for $175 shipped with Savage with only 10 runs, new Turnigy 3600mah 3s, and a Venom 3s 4000mah lipo. Probably could have gotten more for it, but I'm glad I got rid of this thing. Handled terrible.

I've had problems with the inner ones, but I've heard of people having problems with the outers.

I've replaced them multiple times, and they all did the same thing. I think I'm going to buy The Toyz driveshaft setup for the XS and see if I can get rid of this dogbone setup

Did you replace the hpi ones or with aftermarket ones or hpi? Cause you may want to try the hr ones instead.

I would suggest that you do not waste your money on the CVD set up, they are not stronger than the dog bones (might actually be weaker?) and cost 3 times as much. I have broken two axle ends and bent two more, but I have also broken2 CVDs (one of them didn't even make it through a whole pack before it broke). I would much rather replace the ends which are 2 for $10 each time vs 2 CVDs for $35. I have the HR hardened ones on my XS now, so we'll see if those last any longer.

Had a good bashing ssession yesterday with my XS, and my father inlaw with his pede. I let him test drive the XS so he could feel the power of brushless on a lipo. He was surprised, and I think he became a little over confident. We were in a big field, and there was one lone tree on the opposite side. He was full throttle heading in that direction. I saw the tree and told him "Keep an eye on those trees". And what does he do? He hits it, full throttle. And I've noticed that most beginners seem to watch the truck instead of whats in front of it. But here's the clincher... he flew up the tree vertically and rode a branch upside down that was portruding from the tree about 10 feet!! I was freaking out thinking the truck was going to explode into pieces when he hit the tree, but no, he flew up up the tree and rode a branch! The only mark on the truck was a small scratch on the skid plate. That showed him how durable this truck is. He is now looking at the Flux HP1/8 scale lol. Crazy bash session.

That would have been cool if you had gottenthat on video, the mental picture in my headis hilarious!

Hi guys I'm obviously new here, first post on RCU but by no means new to RC (started with hobby grade in '87). I currently have 25 RC's, (used to be lots more).

So I have read a fair bit of this thread and have just bought a new RTR XS despite knowing of the issues with it. Have read up a fair bit about the esc and motor
so upgrading these is on the cards eventually. So I shouldLoctite the motor pinion for starters, the screws apparently strip so maybe some RCscrewz are on the cards too, going to buy some new lipo's as mine are only 20c and 25c respectively which isnt enough for my mad force velet alone this little beast.

is there any other recommendations?

Cheers in advance

New tires. Not only do the stockers not have any traction at all, they are thin. I ripped mine in half!
