Let me say that you sir redmichaelgriffin are the single best source on Gulf Coast shrimping I have ever witnessed. Seems that not many of you or those with your kind of experience have come forward on a forum such as this to share your knowledge so it was a refreshing change to have seen your contribution. Never knew exactly how the rigging worked or which lines were "standing rigging" and "running rigging" and how the outriggers functioned but it is much clearer now.

Best collection of wooden shrimp boats I have seen to date: http://www.floridamemory.com/solr-se...=shrimp%20boat

If you pm your email address I'll send you the PDF of the plans. Then take that to staples or kinkos and have them copied. They are open source so no copyright infringement.

Hi Wayne - Just wanted to thank you for your thread on scratch building the shrimp boat and all the people who contributed to your projects, especially Michael with his knowledge of shrimp boat operation and photos he supplied.

I have built 5 RC boats (3 of them scratch built) so having room for one more boat in my fleet, I decided to build the newly released DUMAS Shrimp Boat Kit. While searching for information on shrimp boat operation and ways to radio control the booms and release the doors/nets, I found your build thread. Lots of good information. Thank you - Howard

P.S. Hope you got the running lights legal before the Coast Guard stops you!

Love the build. Wondering if you have the link or thread where you got the plans for the shrimp boat? I have been searching without any luck. I want to build a shrimp boat model for my son who lives in New Orleans. Please if you know of a source for plans for a 30" or about model, I would appreciate it.
