Omaha Pattern Championships
I know a lot of people of are getting ready for the NATS, but wanted to remind you that the Omaha Pattern Championships, will be held the first weekend of August, in Omaha, NE. For those of you that have been here, you know that Omaha is a great place to fly. I am already predicitng calm winds, and cool weather. If you can make it we would love to have you.
Food will be provided both days for pilots. We will also have T-Shirts on hand for those who want them. IF you would like a shirt the entry fee is 35.00 and 30.00 if you do not want one; we figured we would give you the choice.
We will also have shirts for sale as well at cost 10.00.
We are starting to get the shirts ordered now, so we would like you to let us know the sizes you need, so we will be prepared.
Hope to see you in Omaha!!!!

Hi Robert
Looking forward to the Omaha contest and seeing everybody from that part of the world! This is my first time to your field as a non-glow flier and I have never paid any attention to the availability or lack of electricty there. Do you have power at the field? That I can get to?
Good job at the Nats!

All, Looks to be a good showing this year and we look forward to having all of you at the contest. Chuck Schone from the Denver areas is coming and is looking for a good place to stay, any recommendations?
As for start time! I think it's pretty standard, Pilot meeting around 10:00 to 10:15 with flying starting around 11:00 AM as long as the sun is high enough.
Look forward to see all of you there.

Not bashing you, just don't want anyone to get lost.
If my OS91fx will stop being a temperamental little, B1***, I'll be flying my Swallow EX.

7 Sportsman
3 Intermediate
4 Advanced
9 Masters
I believe we had two crashes in sportsman. One was ESC problem
one in the intermediate had receiver problem in two flights, but saved the plane and took first place.
one in the Masters had radio or receiver problem, but finished the contest without an incident.
First time to see that many Sportsman in years!
It was my first time at Omaha. Great field. Club had lots of support from members.
I would like to thank Robert & Bob for having an excellent contest. All other Omaha Hawk members. I couldn't get her name, but the lady who took all the pictures of the pilots. She stayed all two days taking pictures.
I will be there again.
Wind changed directions a lot, but mostly from NNE or NNW. Wasn't very strong.

It's great to see that new Sportsman fliers can be competitive, and they don't need 2 meter competition planes to be successful. Jeff Jacobs is a very experienced RC pilot who enjoys flying war birds and sport planes, it was great to see him do so well. Greg Nelson is new to the hobby and started flying RC with us less than a year ago.
Robert Green deserves a lot of the credit for helping to mentor and encourage the club's fledgling pattern pilots.

Kudos to "Mrs. Big Ed" for the pictures and humor, and to the whole club for putting together a good contest. As PatternFlyer said: "I'll be back!" Good Job! to all.
