Hiya Bud, please don't take this the wrong way but why are there various threads on forums saying there is no large scale off road in the US?
You event looks great and long may they continue but maybe it would be possible to for groups of people like yourselves across the US to join ROAR and maybe start a full national series? Maybe have a north, east, west and southern series so people don't have to travel so far and maybe 2 meetings a year as "National largescale off road championshps".
There is already talk of a largescale off road World championships just as they do for large scale on road racing (which was held in California in 2003) so imagine the kudos an event like this would bring to the US RC scene.

There is plenty of Off Road Racing in the USA. All over teh USA, just not in every state.

The UK is a little smaller and the furthest I have to travel is a 700 mile round trip but thats doubled for some. As my geography is so cr4p, what sort of distances are you guys doing to get to races?

I need links, man...still a big country. It also helps if they didn't schedule the dates so close (in fact I remember two events being scheduled on the same date this year)

I travel 5 hours by car to get to the California races. Some of the East Coast guys travel 10 hours to get to those races.

FOR the East Coast Guys in North Carolina:
DARC Hobbies is presenting the Large Scale Assault at DARC Speedway. This Event will take place on September 14,15,16 2012.
Friday: September 14th..
Registration opens at 9:00am Drivers meeting at 10am Qualifying will start at 2pm for one round of qualifying both offroad then oval.
Saturday: September 15th..
Drivers Meeting at 9am and qualifying for two rounds both offroad and oval start at 10am
Sunday: September 16th..
Drivers meeting at 9am and Racing starts (the mains) at 10am Congo Line to also take place during this day
