I have a fried who flies one. It's well built and flies well, but likes to float on landing. The landing gear are especially strong. He has been very happy with the jet overall.

I have tried to Google float landing and I only get planes with floats fitted
Do you mean it need very long track to land on because it will countinue flying for a long time.
Does it make jumpy landings?

B. S. I would recommend this jet to anyone. I like mine. I'm in the process of finishing mine and have not flown it. I have however, seen many fly. I think I made a very wise choice. By floating in on landing, what Jeff ment was I does not want to land and keeps flying. This is fixed by using full flaps. You will not have a problems on landings if you use flaps and slows down very nicely.

By "floats a little on landing," I meant that the residual thrust of the turbine is enough to keep this bird flying for several hundred feet. Flaps help, but this is not a jet that you can drag in nose-high at 1/4 throttle and wait for it to settle in. At least that has been my friend's experience.
I didn't mean for my comment to come across as negative. The Jet Legend Tutor is a good airplane!

Thanks.
With these large wingsI can imagine it will fly long time with engine in low idle.
I forgot to ask if the Jetlegendgear could handle grass fields?

Yes, the gear can handle grass fields. It's very sturdy, and my friend has flown his off grass fields many times.
With the T-tail, there is the possibility of an elevator stall. My friend got into one a year ago and with only a P-60 powering it, he couldn't get out. The jet drifted slowly to the ground with about a 30-degree nose-up attitude. (Caused a little damage, but he soon had it flying again.) Nothing he tried would get it out. He has since replaced the P-60 with a P-100, and I think the extra power will be enough to make sure it doesn't happen again. This isn't unique to the Tutor, but can happen with virtually any T-tailed jet.

A. That's the trick gotta keep it flying with the T-Tail. It will fly very slow with out stalling the ail but ya do have to keep the Rel air moving over that tail. As far as the floating in on landing. Again it's like any other jet. It likes to be set-up properly for a landing. They will do a little nose high at the last before touch down but like Jeff states and like any aircraft, if you loose airspeed you have nothing nodda. Zip. As for the gear being strong? Yes. Some of the best built I've seen in this cost level of a kit. Like all kits from this area of the world and any gear that comes to my door. They get a complete take down, cleaning and oiling before goi g in and at the beginning of every season.

I have a friend with this jet and while the jet seems well made the JL oleos just disintegrated on a harder than normal landing. It seemed that the material was very light in the struts.
