RE: XQ Power servos, BEWARE
Good review philjac, my findings were similar to yours with these servos...
this is where I purchased mine from http://www.sdshobby.net/XQ-6V-Digita...ar-p-2621.html , and I got mine around the time when they first came out so I'm sure they have made some improvements since then. They even look as though you can get them with a nice Servo box, like the big boys. For the price they can't be beat at this moment, I hope you have good luck with yours, mine is still going great, even after the torture I put it through on the test bench.

Cracks me up- "not going to use Chinese junk." Better check where that ARF was made. Probably should check where Hitec and JR have their servos produced too.

"get what you pay for, blah blah blah...." this reads just like an old turnigy vs. maxxamps thread, BEFORE most prople learned the truth and started buying turnigy batteries. anyway i revisited this to see if folks had more to report on these servos.

RE: XQ Power servos, BEWARE
I have the same experience before. But I always trust XQ-Power.
They soon replied me that they have just developed this model when I wrote to
their service department. They said thetechnology is not mature.
Well, then I bought another 4 four in Oct,2012 for my Buggy.they works well.
Good brand needs time.
What matters is not how the problem comes out. What really counts is the way
they get into it and work out a satisfactory result.

I am a 35year RC enthusiast, and 20year racer. I too have tried the XQ servos, specifically the models they claim to be there best sellers for 1/8th buggy, the #4615 and #4618. Unfortunately they both did not last more than 10 minutes each! Both have cracked cases, because apparently the internal motor torque is too strong for the ridiculously cheap plastic housing. One stopped working altogether, but I gave the company the benefit of doubt, and requested two replacement cases and just one replacement servo. They agreed to send out replacements, and nearly three months later, I still haven't received them.
When I contacted the company to check on the warranty status, the manufacturer stated that they were sending my replacements to their US distributor Red Wing RC. This is where the scenario took a turn for the worse. Red Wing has been holding my warranty claim for weeks now, and have stalled everytime I contact them. They first lied to me by stating the parts had shipped, when I later found that they had not. I have tried giving Red Wing RC the benefit of doubt too, but they have since proven to be a dealer or fake distributor that I would recommend to no one. So I've wasted $200 on junk servos, that neither the manufacturer or the US distributor can back up with warranty service. They could learn alot from Savox, which is what I recommend for servos. Their availablity and US warranty service level is far superior.
I tried to give XQ a shot, and in return they took my money and shot back at me. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!
Use XQ at your own risk!

Been dealing with Redwing RC for a few years now. Purchasing planes, motors, servos and anything else I needed. Never a problem with them. Customer service has always been excellent too.

Maybe the service is bad in Australia but in the US if you buy XQ's from Redwing RC they will take care of you. The 4013, 4016 and 4020's have been great in 30 and 50cc gas planes. I have not seen one fail yet.

14 servos 5 failed through the rest out. Can't remember which ones but all digital except for two and all around the 15-20 kg mark except for two. Glad you are happy with them. Keep on using them il stick with JR, Futaba, and Hitec.

I'm a new guy of XQ-Power on the end of March ,i think it's not so wise to use negative words assess a brand of any country on forum.
Even the short time,i can see much excellent feedback from our customers.
About the suffer,i don't want to look for the details,as each good or bad result is from both sides.
