Default SuperCub: new design scratch bilt nostalgia

[img]Hi gang. The hermit's back with a rare post but at least an accomplishment. Built a twice size Cub to remember my mis-spent control-line youth.
Scratch built to my own plans, this 36in span Super Cub PA11 is pulled by a 57yr old OK Cub 049! Has Sanwa SD-5G, hollow 6mm depron wing w/ spruce spar, (built sandwich style with sheets sandwiching spar and ribs between), 12 oz AUW, unique cabin structure that gives the open-air space-frame look and accents the skylite window. Plus, (of course) it has that classic 50's "2-tone paint" scheme! I even added rivets.
I got nostalgic about my long gone Walt Musciano / Scientific Models 18 inch hollow log ukie, which this very motor once flew! Will post a fresh photo after I finish the dash, struts, under carriage shocks, etc. If time permits, will eventually post the sequence of build photos.

Nice. Good to see an old engine that isn't just sitting collecting dust.

I love Stinson 108 tails, the most beautiful tail ever on a airplane.

Great looking Cub!

That Stinson is real slick , too. (Marines; great!) Yes, those tails are very distinctive. Thanks for the kind words , guys.

P.S. My good Longdan; This Herkimer Cub .049 HAS INDEED been "just sitting collecting dust" for FIFTY SEVEN YEARS ! ! ! (Life happens.)
_____ Am planning to change to a slightly more powerful, reliable , and THROTTLABLE Cox engine after a few nostalgia flights to remember the good ol' days.
