Not a useless thread, but you placed a useless post.
Ibid....

Here's another.... pffft!

Has anything changed for you?

Have you actually accomplished anything?

I sympathize with your plight, but this is not going to do a thing.... you are barking up the wrong proverbial tree.

Let's ALL thank the Troll!!!

THANK YOU TROLL!

It still will not change a thing.

Look I can do it too!!! "Manufacturers CAN and SHOULD do a better job of supporting their products and customers."

Nothing's changed though, and nothing will.... good luck with your campaign.

That's funny, but I think Azzir is getting exactly the result he wants: lots of attention.

Let me thank opjose for you Rick.

Hey Rick? Would I have the results like this if I didn't push and demand Customer Support? Nothing gets done eh? Only if I sit on my hands and do nothing. If money means anything to them then they will listen.

Pat,

So are you going to request for them to remake the plug? Or request that they at least be aware that many who have this plane wish to keep it going and have parts available for a few more years? Wheels too are sold out for this ARF.

Peter Dowling

AMA#856404

Responce:

I emailed the vendor again. I want to make sure they really got rid of the plug. We told them we are willing to adjust the pricing because it is a special build for them and will cause them production issues. It may take them until early next week to respond, plus I am taking a long weekend myself.

I hope we can work this out, but please understand that we have to have a point where we decide not to order parts any longer so our vendors an focus on other things and resources. The only reason we are making the extra effort on this cowl is that for whatever reason we got a run on them and they replacements did not last as long as we generally try to commit two.

If it turns out they really destroyed the plug we will not ask them to make a new one. This vendor is too far behind on other projects right now for us.

Got to love these dummies trying to portray me as the insane one. Their definition, same thing over and over, same result, is the very definition of themselves and what they are doing. This thread started with the message that

Manufacturers CAN and SHOULD do a better job of supporting their products and customers.

THAT'S what this thread is about. If you have something to post along that theme, please add it in. If you are all about drivel (trolls, I'm talking to you), well, I can't stop you from posting, but be assured, I will use your post as a springboard to say

'Manufacturers CAN and SHOULD do a better job of supporting their products and customers.

It's Einstein's definition not mine... It seems like the shoe fits quite comfortably.

THAT'S what this thread is about.
Should, could and would, the question is "so what"? Something it seems you keep missing...

Are YOU doing anything about it other than posting the same thing over and over again?

Why didn't you ask for people to help you with a letter writing campaign or something that is ACTUALLY constructive?

Your rant does nothing... if it had any chance of making a change I'd be joining you in posting my own along the same lines.

Seems like you like to call anyone who points any of this obvious stuff out to you a "troll". How effective is that for you?

Or are you just nothing more than hot air?

No you are not doing anything. You are merely whining to people who already know this.

I can give you a much longer laundry list of things that SHOULD be changed...

e.g.

Connectors should be standardized.
Manufacturers should NOT use proprietary communication protocols.
Epoxies or high strength glues should always be used on planes.
Factories should ALWAYS provide parts for Vendors - ( sound familiar? )
etc.
etc.
etc.

The list is quite long and well known by anyone who is involved in RC.

Posting a RANT here is useless.

What do you suppose will change by doing so? Not the tiniest thing will change!

If you wanted this not to be a "useless thread" ( which it currently is ) DO SOMETHING CONSTRUCTIVE to further your desire that things be changed.

No need to . We hold these truths to be self evident.

Disgruntled pilots CANand SHOULD contact the distributors directly with complaints. They said "no", so no it is. Take your business elsewhere . . . and expect identical results. If you accept an ARFthen you are at their mercy.

But Iwaste my time and typing. Spent a couple years as a college instructor and Iguess it's just habit.

Excellent! Then we can sit back and clear the channel so the very next distriutor or manufacturer who arrives here can respond immediatelyto you.

Well Charlie you and many other people have tried to bring him up to speed.

Sadly he needs something more than reason and common sense.

This is sort of like trying to explain to a Lemming that it is heading in the wrong direction with identical results.

At least the Lemming doesn't make much noise.

A little off the topic, but when we needed a correct cowl for our Waco YMF birds, we built a plug, sent it to Fibertech and they now offer it for sale. Y'all could do the same with needed glass parts. As for the rest? I guess you could do the same thing. It is obvious that the manufacturers have moved on to bigger and better things.

Stickbuilder, good input. To me the "Can and SHOULD" thing can get old after a while and I tend to agree somewhat with both sides of this thread. I do realize that making parts for the planes would probably not be feasible overall.

I do think that support is lacking for parts and so forth and maybe a standard should be in place. Realistically I don't think it will happen in this ever changing world we live in. Businesses like HK do make other businesses change their model to, "If that is what we have to do to stay in business then so beit."

One thing I have learned in life is that money speaks loudly to many businesses and sometimes (not often enough) you can get movement without money just by working hard to make change occur. I am a small player trying to give some decent input and not enough to effect much change.

Not expecting much change, but if no one makes noise, there definitely will not be change. So I started this thread to make some noise. I thank all of those who offer support and lend their voices to the call for change. To all those who are just trolls, or to those who tried to make this thread "ARFers VS builders," thanks for the noise and helping get to 13 pages.
