Hey Spinner. What size P51 did you put it in? Ive got the .46 size and I am running a Thunder TIger .61 Pro in it. I love that little plane (Miss America). I picked it up from a guy getting out of the hobby for $100 bucks. I know guys put big motors in them for racing. I actually thought for a second about putting a DLE20 in it. It would land at 1000mph, but it would be a blast in the air!

Spinnerrow - I picked up an H9 P51 150, 80", with a MVVS 35 inside. On the maiden I dropped it down to the ground too abruptly and tore off one of the gear. Need to fix and reinforce both wing areas around the gear - there's actually not much there for reinforcement.
I also need a muffler - this thing had (I bought it used) only a header - no muffler - so it's loud as hell. Problem is finding a muffler that'll fit inside that narrow cowl. I read on Youtube that another owner got a custom muffler made from JTec.
After I rebuild my other Rev 70 \ DLE 20 this P51 repair is my next project.

I would check out the Jtech Compact Wraparound Pitts mullfers. They narrower than their standard mufflers and made for narrow cowls. The good thing about the new DLE 35RA is that it is rear exhaust and you don't have to buy an expensive wrap around muffler for it.

Didn't think it would run with the choke "ON"
Mine takes about 10 - 12 flips with the choke "ON" before it pops and then 2 - 3 flips choke "OFF" before it runs.
Was just wondering if anyone had a "special" method to save my arm

Mine is finally breaking in. Started today rather quickly, then once it had run once, it fired off every time with one flip of the prop.
Tried something tonight on my 4*120, I swapped out the APC 16x6 after the first flight with the ZOAR 16x8, and flew it. It lost some speed, half throttle was slower, and it lost altitude, and top end was lower. The take off was a bit quicker but thats about it. I put the APC back on and it flew better.
One final test is to try out the XOAR 17x6 that I also have for it. I need to ream it, or would have tried it tonight.

I was having trouble starting mine before the first flight of the day. Took something like over 60 flips to get it to pop with the choke on. I think it just doesn't have a strong fuel draw on choke. I have a fueling ''T'' in the line from the tank to the carb. I now fuel the tank until it spills a little bit out of the vent. Without removing the fueling line, I close the choke and with the ignition off, flip the prop 4-5 times. Disconnect the fueling line, turn the ignition on and flip with the choke on. It usually pops in a few flips. open the choke and its starts withing 4-5 flips. Nice thing is it sits sometimes over an hour between flights....it will usually start with one flip...no choke. Great little engine! I think my starting problem was that when I removed the fueling line I introduced air into the line. By choking with the fueling line still connected seems to be a simple fix. Would be interesting to see if this works for you too.

And I thought it as ME! For seems like two weeks now this site does NOT respond! I've taken to opening the site just to "www.rcuniverse.com" and then going in to Threads and searching for the thread name. RCU - please clean this up!

Looks like this forum is no longer active.
I put in a ticket on it and got a reply that they were working on it, but nothing since.

My dle 20 sat out for a season waiting for a home, and now that it has one, it won't start.
RCExcel a123 ignition kill switch
A123 2300mah
new spark plug
Could something have gummed stuck from sitting. When I pull the spark plug it smells of fuel, so it's getting fuel.

Nothing. No pop. Fuel seems to be getting in the cylinder. It does smell of fuel when I pull spark plug. But am not sure if it's enough.
There can only be three things, air, fuel and ignition. How do you check for spark?

Just pull the plug, insert it far enough into the spark plug boot for the hex section of the plug to touch the metal boot, and turn the engine over. You can go as slow as you want, if everything is working/turned on, it should spark every time the magnet passes under the sensor.
If you have no spark, the first and easiest step is to plug your battery directly into the ignition module to bypass any potential trouble with switches and connections. If you still don't have spark go here, post #24 down near the bottom of the first page, for a comprehensive troubleshooting guide.

Boy that link was invaluable. Totally helped me out. As it turns out, my sensor(magnetic pickup) was fubarred. I got spark when the wire was wiggled one way and not the other. Well, that's unacceptable. Appreciate everyone's help. A new sensor will be ordered shortly. Anywhere in particular/suggestions?

Hey guys i would like to share my futur DLE20 future build. this is an Epic LT 120 from Nitro planes it seems that it is a great frame for the DLE20 plus it lands really slow. one of the main things that drew me to this plane was the fact that you can really put alot of scale details on the plane. The plane aready comes with fitted lights plus you can setup a really good scale retract setup. and using a pits muffler i wouldnt be butchering the cowling.
there are some vids on youtube of this plane with a DLE20 on it. go check it out.
