Default Mounting a MW44 gold on a 4m Airworld Fox

Just toying with the idea. I have an Airworld Fox glider kit and a Wren MW44 gold. Any pointers on mounting the turbine, thrust lines, height above fuselage, fus/fin heat protection etc? Anyone done this before?

I lined the turbine up at Zero with the wing root. Turbine is as far forward as possible for C of g and I put the canopy latch at the front. It flies with a throttle elevator mix, however the mix depends on how fast you move the throttle open, but it is a a lot of fun. Two 12 ounce tanks gives me about 4 1/2 minutes of aero's the climb up to shut it off. It sits as low as possible to the fuselage and a bit of Alloy tape on the Fin leading edge for confidence.

4 m Fox is a John Copeland Kit from SA.

It's pretty easy to mount the turbine on a test bench useing a digital steak thermometer checking the tempratures behind the engine. I did this before installing my Kolibri on my F5D "glider" and found the engine make only 90celcius 650mm behind the tailcone at full power (3kg of thrust).

Thanks for that, looks like I am not far off the mark with my idea.[8D] I would be able to mount the motor a bit further foreward as I am not going to cut open the rear side windows, to give a bit more strength.

Yes thanks for that, seems it won't be a big problem.

Good luck, I'm also looking for a larger glider for my small turbine and will be following your progress
