You know you can't control them when the motor quits......
This while looking at a Sagitta 900........After I had just finished telling him that the control system is separate from the engine, that you can control them in a glide....how's that thang work with no motor?

Is that yours? Are you going to fly that? Have you ever dropped bombs from it or crashed it? If it were mine, I'd make it fly into a car nd explode! Can I fly it?

We gotta take the stuff that kids say for what it is, especially the little ones, we were all kids once, and I'll bet money that we all said the same sort of things........but some things that comes from the mouths of grown adults makes me shake my head.....the movie Idiocracy comes to mind.

I've been modeling since I was about 4 with my father. I'm 39 now. I've never said those stupid questions... I've had many people of all ages say the same thing; young and old.. Drives me nuts!

People that ask you how much it costs. Give me a break, I'm mostly a scratch builder, and have given away nearly all my ARFs. When you've spent nearly every penny on scale building and invested time nearly every day in it for years, you're not interested in folks who are wondering about how many of their precious dollars it will take to buy a toy for themselves, as if the small amount money matters anyway.
The next is when folks ask, how long does it fly. I don't know, and it doesn't really matter to me anyway. After 8 minutes of going around, I've almost always had enough on a single flight and never hit LVC. It's not like the video games that you play buddy.

Wow I owe a bunch of people an appology. Back in the 70ds I was that snot nosed kid pointing at this and that . The modeler was cool though, and took time to explane all the flappy thingys. He could tell I was really interested, but I think he had a hidden agenda cause he owned the LHS. That trip to the flyingfieid and I was done with paper planes and kites. Now it was Gullows, 049s, slab balsa wings fishin line, wizzin around in circles till my pint can of fuel was gone. Then I was finally abel to step up.Got me a four channel Kraft radio. My addiction still not satisfide I went to RAF Upper Heyford for two years working on the F111E then the 509th BMW on the FB111A. Retiring with my A+P lic., nope still not there . It was off to KI Sawyer to work with American Eagle. I'm no way a Yeager or a Sully, But when a six ,seven, thirty year old kid comes up asking goofy questions, it might be a chance for you to spark that flame that gets them to drop the remote and be the next great aviator. O-ya , thottle up pull back, turn and level off. then look back at the "kid". They'll be stairing in amazment , and that will put a smile on anyones face

I have people come up to me and ask how much it is minimum to get started racing, then watch the get pail in the face when I say when all said and done you'll be looking at about 1100.00 average for everything to be competitive. They all think they are just cheap toys...lol
