There are good people over in the Spitfire Brotherhood who made vinyl decals for the gathering. Maybe we should invite Chad to make some for this forum.
thanks for inviting me to join.

I bought a set of ESM retracts for the 87" P-40 hoping they might fit into my 82" Skyshark P-40...but it's not going to work. Anyone interested in a set of NIB retracts at a good price?

Magnificent P-40F (or is it an L?) DiscoWings. What are the specs on the bird if I may ask?

Be happy to do it as soon as time permits SC. I've just about finished up the Spit decals but some other work has kept the laser tied up for the last few days. Hope to wrap them up tomorrow and then I might be able to think about P-40 decals.

Thank you all for your suggestions regarding my engine problems. Today I flew with out the cowl and did not experience loss of power at full throttle but it still felt low on RPMs. A fellow at the field mentioned that I should check the tolerances of the rocker arms and valves. I'll do this as well as building baffels for the cowl. I'm also considering a higher reving prop.

Any further thoughts?

O.K my new Wingspan 100 deg rotating retracts came today.Iam going to see if I can install them tonight. Iwill post pic's along the way. Here are a few pre install pics. They are really well made of aluminum and stainless steel for the gear and the control board is small and fits inside the wing

That looks great! I'm going to try to get mine to look that good, too. I modified a set of Sierra gear to rotate 90 degrees and they should work.

I'm officially a P-40 pilot! I just got back from maidening my Airfield 1400mm. It was getting dark enough that I knew I had no business staying up for long so it was only a couple minute flight, but I was quite happy with how it flew. Now that I've proven I can fly it and bring it home in one piece I can finish all the cosmetic work I wanted to do!

Just a little update on the retract conversion. I did not get to finish the project yet as I had another little project pop up. The trunions come set up for 5/32 gear wires and since my struts are set up for 3/16 wire I had to drill out the trunions, not a big deal if you first disconnect the rotating pin from the trunion first, but nooooo, I got in too big of a hurry and tried drilling them out with the pin in place and promptly snapped it in two when the drill bit grabbed and twisted the trunnion hardIcontacted Mike at Wingspan and he is sending me a couple of replacements and said he is in the process of making a heavier pin and will send me upgrades when they are ready. Now that is service.Welcome to all the new brothers. Man I wish I could swing a giant P-40

Count me in please

I just bought this Black Horse one from a friend and am planning electric conversion. I don't know what setup yet so if any of you have suggestions, feel free :-) Also links for scale looking 3-blade props are appreciated (shops that ship to Denmark, Europe). I will probably put electric retracts in, as no one seems to get the mechanical stock retracts working properly.

I have a 10 year old Top Flite P-40 kit that includes everything except covering and radio equipment. Includes centerline drop tank, Robart retracts and accessories, OS120 III w pump and flex exhaust with header for internal muffler setup. Everything is new in the box except for some wing ribs that I have carefully cut out from the die cut balsa. Nothing is missing from the kit. I will sell for less than half price ($600) or make me an offer. Buyer pays for shipping at the actual cost from Strasburg, Virginia 22657.

I am thinking about getting a Century Jet Model P-40 but have not seen any posts about them. Does any here have one or know of anyone that does. I would like to ask questions before getting it.
Thanks
Doug

Century Jet Models is a 1/4 scale model, I could not find where anyone had built one here in the forums.
