You guys are nuts.
Big Mike is a good friend. I pitted for Mike in London last year ,when he won the thunderboat class. I was very happy for him ,felt like I had won too. A winning combo He still asks me to pit for him. I do -as always. His son has this site

My son Tom and I will be at Stony Pond tonight to try break more stuff!! Tom wants to see if he can lose my digital video cam by mounting it on the Thunderboat...and trying to get a 'Driver's View' of Stony Pond. It should be entertaining if nothing else!! I'm thinking the vibration will be an issue. There may also be a sighting of the JAE.12. I stuck an OS carb on it to see if it flows any better than the black K&B fuel leaker we were using. Roger

I've got a GoPro that I will bring down if I ever make it down there again. I'd like to see it on the front of a JAE .45 with another one in the water in front of it. I think they'd be a lof of fun on tunnel thursdays. It mounts on the cowl of my Stiletto no problem.

Go to YouTube and search boat names with GoPro and you'll find some. There is a handful of them on the Stiletto.

The outriggers look good!
You need to get a lawn mower on that island...

Were racing @ STONY if only head to head. I've been playing with my 67 rigger ,newer turnfin ,my 67 rebuilt Picco better steering servo. I also have my real boat striped down a new floor & rug going in. I will probable sell that boat as I didn't use it as much as I wanted to. The boat sits up too high to launch a rigger.

looking at the island, we may need a cable to pull the roots with the tractor.

I'm hoping the roots have rottened more since last year. We'll see....

Charlie donated a 20' length of culvert pipe. We will be able to drive accross the stream next year to get to the pit area. We will probably still not allow cars accross during races. We'll see how cramped it gets with cars over there and make a decision then. Thanks Charlie.

I will probably start draining the pond tomorrow night. So the pond will start dropping level even more. We can still run, but the pond will be smaller. I want to let the excavator have the option to start earlier. I want to make sure everything gets dug before next spring. Right now the north side is still very dry, so I might have Victor Excavating come in early for lengthening. A hard rain will not affect widening as that is high ground and the water will just run off into the pond anyways.

The weather is looking pretty good!

No boating for me. I'm cutting trees down in the morning and moving dirt the rest of the day. Tomorrow will be my last day to get dirt to the pit area.

Terry Keeley and the Northern Lights Model Boat Club made a donation for our pond dig! Thanks Terry!

Here's a video of Bob and Dick with their Thunderboats today.  The "Evil Bob" comes out at the end!

Thanks to Rick for helping try and sort out the fuel delivery problem on the JAE21.  The new needle valve should be here tomorrow and just for insurance sake, will purchase a new carb from Glenn Quarles.  Hopefully this will sort out our problem for Charleston.

Let us know when the "pond party" will be - even though our "old" bodies won't be of any use to you, Cindy will make lunch for the group (won't be burgers or subs).

T&C My orange rigger hull didn't hit the water. Carb has a air leak. But my gas sport hydro was running great. no problems Fueled her up and ran all day. Yes evil Bob ran his gas JAE. the wind never did calm down. He had her hooked up. Wind got under the JAE and she took flight. His new carb cover didn't break apart. One more big race this weekend and done for the season. I think. I got some winter projects planned fixing mostly.
EVERYONE said DO NOT TOUCH that hull. Walt your old hull ran flawless. even in the chop. The wind had my eyes watering. I hung in their. I did have fun. Yee Ha

Thanks to Craig for hosting us today. We had a chance to meet Rick and Charlie for the first time - both very interesting to talk with.

Bob Steiner and I had a blast playing "Catch me if you can" with Bob's full race 29.5 Zenoah T-Boat and my stock 26. We'll get a good turn fin adjustment on his boat and he'll be kicking my butt!
i'm building a stock 29.5 also and we'll see how in runs in my boat next year..

Thaks to Tom and Cindy and Rick for taping our antics.. Have a good time in Elmira everyone - see you guys next year!!

Dick and Rick Thompson

Thanks Rick, Tom & Cindy for the video. Was a fun day racing the t-boats - little windy (or maybe my driving needs more work!) Darn that Evil Bob... Need a new driver since Luigi lost his head. Off to Toys r Us. Neil and I will do our best to represent Stony Pond next Sat in Elmira.

Bob
