flown a few of both, and they are both very different. I wouldn't say one is better than the other as they both excel in different areas.
Regards Al

Funny thing is that I find the aesthetic of the futura far more pleasing than that of the UF.

Not yet Scott, although the praise you are throwing at it makes me want to go get another one just to drop a 100 in it. I guess with the 100 it must drop below that all important weight where planes really start to fly even better than well?

Carlos......same from me......don't pass up the opportunity to get a Hawk as it looks like neither me or Darren will be investing in one anytime soon, I'm going with a Futura I think Me too Al and I can promise I've not been on any mind bending substances but I much prefer the look of the Futura after all, the Flash and Ultra Flash nose section has a look only it mother could love, and I don't feel guilty of saying that as I own one

Don't get me wrong Rob, I love my Flash and with a few coupling mixes it will flow quite smoothly between manoeuvres, I just fancy something a bit different, I think the Ultra is great also, it's just not different enough to warrant spending that amount on one and then spending all the time building it to end up with a slightly improved version of what I've got......plus with Dad owning one it means I can steal his for an occasional flight when I want 250mph plus I'm gutted about Elvington as I was hoping for a stir of the sticks on both a UF and Futura.....but ohh well, at least it's only a fortnight to the next one.

How do you find the verticals Scott.....perfect power?? Have you used the standard Tomahawk Gear?? Do you know of anyone that's used Electric Retracts at all or are they all using the standard air system??

I have gone of the hawk idea anyway, really got my heart set on a cougar now. I've got the opportunity to get a nice skymaster one, just need to get some money together[]

Jame,

I'll watch with interest as you put the Futura together. I'm happy with mine so far. Just started installing gear on a couple trays today. Going to be out of town next week so hopefully i'll be airborne by the middle of the month.

Clear is done....well it's on. I still need to sand and polish it later in the week. I'm happy with how it's turning out, and am pleased with the lines and how the paint fits the shape of the fuse. May be just my eye but it makes it look a little sleeker than it really is. [8D]

I'll post when it's complete. At the moment it weighs 9 lbs 14 oz. Clear added 8 oz at this stage, it was 9 lbs 6 oz prior to clear.

The gear it comes with are a work of art! Turbo Ditti is a master!! I all for electric gear and use them myself, but these gear work beautifully as air and very simple. Also shelling out the extra money didnt seem worth it. I like running the Jettronics valves with 4mm fest air line and they work great. I like using the festo fittings between wing and fuse as well.

That Snowbird scheme looks superb. A true example of " less is more" Nice one!

Thanks guys! Less is more applies to everything but thr masking it would seem. . It took much longer than i would have expected, but in the end its worth it. And thanks to both of you for the information you have shared online on this airframe! Is been very helpful!
My only constructive feedback so far on the kit is the lack of logical instructions, and I feel the main tank is a little thin and flexible. I'm sure it will be ok, just not used to the light layup. Other than that the quality is exceptional, the best I've seen in a model.

Wow, that's crazy! I never saw pics of yours, did you execute it on the model yet? Looks great!

I used this pic as my inspiration.

Il stick with the standard Retract setup then Scott, they do look amazing on the pictures, let alone in the flesh.

Sean....scheme looks very nice, really adds to the shape of the Fuse, I think Il be picking something similar in terms of how much paint or vinyl I have to apply, I love the Martini scheme, it was probably the first scheme I saw where the Futura bug hit me I think theres alot of people who are still to be overcome by the Marmite model but I love them but dont worry Al, I wont steal your signature
