Default 3/16 on 5 mm thread

Hey

Does anyone know, if 3/16 octura-props suit the thread on a 5 mm shaft. I mean, the 5 mm thread should be a little under5 mm, but if its 4,76 i dont know.

Can anyone help a newbie in this matter. My own digi-caliper doesnot (damn) work anylonger.

Yes it can/will work out OK .

That's what I do to 3/16 propshafts , cutting M5 on it for the prop-nut.
(or I reduce the 5mm shaft to 3/16" / 4,76mm in the lathe)

But if you have a 5mm propshaft , it's easier to ream the Octura from 3/16" to 5mm with a reamer-tool.

Thanks H

Ive in the meanwhile been informed, that ill be better of on the long term with a .187 on 3/16 prop.

But they are not easy to get ín Europe, maybe Gundert Modellbau have them anyway.

To get them sent from OSE with UPS is much too expensive

Allready given 70 USD (including shipment) out for the two X442´s.

If i cant get the .187 with 3/16, ill file the 5mm thread down until the octuras suits the threads

There are FAR better electric props as Octura's.

For Europe [link=http://www.prestwich.ndirect.co.uk/octurapropellers.htm]Dave Marles[/link] , [link=https://astecmodels.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=25&osCsid=83b3656733ef537907c139cb3afefe73]AsTec[/link] , [link=http://www.hydromarine.de/hm_18.htm]Hydro&Marine[/link] . [link=http://www.prop-shop.co.uk/]PropShop[/link] .

Most 3/16" / 4,76mm propshafts will have M5 threads , and the M5 thread will be 4,76mm already ,

to suit / match the 3/16"props.

Thanks Mart and Hendricx.

Hope theres a suitable thread on the flexshafts. Im not that far yet. But Ive already bought the oct´s x442. Although i think ill need three-bladesmaybe 445´s,then i also bought 2 leo 4082´s. The 4082 kv 2000 have some different specifications...Goodgame says it goes to 6S, while Hobbyhot tells 4-9. Is the red 4082 made in various serieswith a2000 kv??

Dont know if they are too heavy for the 36 hull. We´ll see.

Will see if i can find some carbon to place in the hull-inboard. Ordered 2 mm carbonplate as motormounting. Got all Winter to become ready (besides the Smit Rotterdam and the old mahagony admiral from Billing/DMI (both firm started in my hometown Esbjerg 1950´s-60´s.
