zdz80rv-j
I have a black head zdz 80 RV-J. I haven't been a zdz guy so this might be a dumb question. I had thought that all rvj were super 80s. But have been told differently today. What's the truth here? Whats the difference? Trying to buy a muffler and thought I had a super as advertised when I bought it, but maybe not? Thanks..

Bit confusing I suppose. Basically having a black cylinder head does not mean it's an RV-J. Easiest way to tell is just look at it if you're familiar with ZDZ which it sounds like you're not so the next way is to look at the sticker on the side of the case which should say "80 RV-J".
The differences between an 80 RV and an 80 RV-J or "Super" are quite substantial. The mufflers will not interchange nor will much else except the prop and probably the carb and the RV-J is supposed to be able to put out 1 more HP than the 80 RV.
Does that help?

Talked to TBM today and got it figured out. It says RV-J right on it and was confirmed to be a super 80. I was sure it was but was having some trouble confirming that to order a muffler. Thanks for your help.
