RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread
So how many of you guys still have rc's to run? We are fixing to name a sunday to where the members of my site along with some others that haven't joined yet are going to have a track goof off day here. Just a meet and greet kind of thing and everyone get some run time in. I'm soon to be buying a lap counting system. Transponders are $55 each and if you plan to run here you will need one. I have a sign up list up on my site. The system new is $870. Once I get 10 prepaid transponders then I will front the rest of the money to buy the system.

Me and Paul got the rest of the pipe laid down on thursday. And I also added some more dirt to the edges of a few jumps to make them fit the lanes properly. Going to add some whoops before long.
Ya'll can come down and run for free all you want until I get the lap counting system and then I'm only charging $5 to run as many vehicles and classes as you'd like to.

The guys that own FOUR local tracks in waynesboro area are on my website now. Just go to Valley Short Course on my site for more info.
Me, Paul and Randy are all going to hit up some of their races this year. They have a timing system and they alternate tracks every race. The pics I've seen look good. Right now all they are running are slashes, blitzes.etc... They only run short course but that is quickly changing from what I hear. The guy said if there is a 2-3 of anything there that he would run a class for them. Hell I have about every class covered now with all the junk I own so I'm not worried about being left out lol.

Did all of you give up on rc's? I remember coming up there and at least 6-7 guys were there running at Scott's. Ya'll dust off those cars and get to running again so I can ride up and have some fun.

RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread
I actually dusted off my 777 this week and swapped out the engine and after 3 years its alive again! Matt your track looks amazing, just wish it was closer to C-ville. I'm very interested in the Valley Short Course(s), if there is a place I can run 1/8th scale buggies I'm all IN. I've had a bad itch to get back into nitro RC racing lately. A couple guys at the C-ville car club are interested in the hobby as well, I'm going to "demo" my car for them tomorrow, we meet every Friday 7pm at Darden Towe Park. If we can piece together our old group and maybe add a few more, we could easily bring back the good ol days, maybe? Or am I just dreaming?

RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread
Hey Mike!! wow Scott's track is gone? Are they putting in the new road out there? Man - I haven't been out that way for several months when I last did some archery with Allen and I don't think Scott's truck was there or I would have stopped in to say hey.
I have been very busy around the house - we just remodeled the kitchen and that project started in March and I just finished with the painting about 2 weeks back.
How have you been? That go-kart looks sweet always did want to drive one of those.....and no - I don't need one!! But it would be fun!!
Besides projects around the house I started mountain biking with Dave (but it has been too hot for that lately - but will pick back up in the fall) and working in my woodshop.
Hope that all is well with everyone!!!

RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread
you should check out the track that is posted above. The guy who owns it lives in the Amherst area and his name is Matt. He is a good guy and I think you may remember him and a couple of the other guys (Randy and Paul) that used to run out at Scott's and down at the public track in Amherst. Although I think they are in to electric 8th scales - but my guess is that they run for fun and don't care if there is nitro too. He has he new web site posted somewhere in all his posts above.

RE: Charlottesville Racers Thread
I had to go on line to check it out - very cool.
It is funny..... I was in my furnace room last night and came across Amanda's old XXX4 losi electric buggy and all the stuff we have for it. The 4 wheel drive buggies were a lot of fun. I know that Scott has/had one that is shaft drive and it was fast! I think that Allen does too.
I remember a couple of years back I thought about upgrading that old XXX4 with the new electrics etc.....but never did....I still have my ICE charger too.
Where are you going to run at? Keep us posted here!!! [8D]

well it looks like there are still issues with this site.
i haven't been able to get on yet again.
had some things come up (car repairs, pellet fuel for winter ect) so getting the axial is on hold for a little while.
i'm just gonna run it around the yard or where ever i can.

I'm going to be taking a trip to run indoors at ECH if anyone wants to go. East Coast Hobbies has a nice place. They have a thread up on Rctech.net if anyone wants to check them out.
Scott how is your track right now? I wouldn't mind riding up one weekend and running some.

Sad news everyone. You all remember Chris Johnson... he passed away on Dec 26th. It sounds like he had an aneurysm in the brain on the morning of the 25th and was in a coma before Monica (Chris's wife) let him go. There is a family and friends gathering Monday Jan 1st at Teague funeral home from 5 pm to 7 pm if anyone is interested. The funeral service will be on Wednesday out in Earlysville.
I found out about all this when Monica called me last night. I plan on attending the family/friends gathering Monday evening if anyone is interested.
