yes, definately do not store your skydiver with the chute packed up in it's container.
I do not pack the chute until we are ready to start jumping for the day. I almost always leave the diver hang from his feet and let the chute hang ''naturally'' how it wants. At the field I will lay the diver on the ground with the chute layed out flat on the ground for the sun to shine on it while we are getting other stuff ready.

Their are quite some fotos to work from building your own jumper. Their is also a german file to build a small jumper that comes with measurements. As for the chute that is many trial and error. Design, build, test, trash and then start again.
Their is the gitchell chute witch is good to start from and work your way from their.

This site has a link to the Gichel instructions: http://www.mindspring.com/~sanyo1/
The site wouldn't work for me on Firefox but does come up with IE. Click on "lets jump" - Scroll down a ways to the link.

I found the Wally Gitchel's instructions and have converted the airfiol to a dwg file. If anyone wants it let me know and I'll post them here. Also here is the short cut to the his instructions

RE: Official RCSkydiving questions & help
Hi Guys,
Couple of years ago I bought an Ultimate Hangtime Skydiver (body only), jumpsuit, and Drop Box from RCSkydiving. Since then,
I finally saved enough to buy the rest. Servos and receiver are on the way.
Critical items still needed to fly- The large chute, the container backpack, straps/harness?, and Hangtime instructions. Does anyone
have or know of a source to get these items? (Tried the RCS website-it's down, and PM to Dave-N/A).
Sure would like to get this guy flying, I'm a first time skydiver and this sport looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for any help, Jim.
