Frank's rings average around 11 bucks I think. I think gasser rings are easier to install than glow because all you have to do is pull 4 bolts and pull the jug off.

ramoooo, the EME has jap bearings,my self not realy worried about the crank bearings,it's the lower rod bearings and the crank pin that i think may fail just like DLE55.
but as long as i can get parts from MileHigh rc and they said they will stock parts for it that is all that concerns me.
just got word from Frank Bowman and cylinder and piston is on it's way back, won't be long now to see what it will do.

thats just part of the casting in the cylinder,or tooling marks.there is a vedio of them with one chuck up in a lathe cutting the bore,it may be that?

Well all be. If there are any sharp edges on those marks in the combustion chamber it could cause hot spots and preignition. I've never seen anything like it.

closetguy,
looking nice, keep us updated. if they run great and reliable I will be one 60cc and one 120cc.
do you notice less vibration over the  DLE55 ?

no sharp edges Ernie, there not even small holes, the round marks are flush with the surrounding surface.
i talk to john911 before i bought this one and he said no more vibes or shake than any other engine.
i have not ran the engine yet, putting on a roof, when i do i'll post the rpm's with the props.be interesting to see the numbers with a Bowman ring, compared to john's engine.
just so you know Franks ring had less than .002 ring gap, thats the smallest gauge i have and it was a tight fit.

well i got time to get engine mounted and ran four tanks of fuel through it (fourty min.),with 32-1 redline.engine isn't a shaker, just as smooth as the 55dle's i have, easy starting, good throttle rsponse, smooth transtion.
the Xoar 23-8 laminate had really fast response at 7100 rpm's,didn't even try the Xoar 23-8 beechwood,i normally get 200 more with it verses the laminate.
the 24-8 NX got 6510,i didn't change the needles at all for the 24-8,they were set at max rpm's with the 23-8.engine was ran eight min. before any rpm's were taken, good and warm, at the end of the fouth tank.
muffler was a DA50 side dump, now i want to replace the dle55 on a WrongWay 50cc profile, with one of these 60's.
i am good with the rpm's i got, the Xoar laminate is a higher load prop.not sure about the 24-8 NX where that falls as load is concerned.maybe someone with a DA 60 can chime in and let me know how that stacks up.

Thanks for the update.

have you tried it in a plane or just an engine stand.
what do you think of the performance over the DLE 55., does it have more power ? reliable ? smoother or just the same ?

does it feel like it has more compression using the bow man ?

thanks a lot

i don't have much use for a test stand,it's mounted in a 3DHS 89"Slick and it's been to windy to fly.MUCH better power than a DLE55 and just as smooth as the 55.
as with every engine i have used a Bowman ring in, it has at lease double the compression, but all of the engines have been china made.
base on only the power that it is putting out, and how smooth it is, i would buy another, but time will be the real test.

double the compression, wow. that sounds amazing. i'm thinking of getting one of the 60cc's and one in the120 for my 100cc plane.
what prop does it fly better with 23' or 24", for the 60cc i'm considering going witheither a vess 24b or 23b. which one do you recommend,,, 23 or 24 ?

thanks man for all your hard work on these engines

i just ran 3/4 of a gal. through the 60 on sunday.i tried a NX 24-8 and still getting in the low 6500 range of rpm's.spool up is to slow out of a hover on this prop for my liken.
the 23-8 Xoar laminate is MUCH better at 7150-7200 and will stick with this prop for the time being, it also has good vertical speed and no slowing down at all while climbing.engine is really easy to start with on flip starts all day after the first cold start of the day.
it is just as smooth as a dle55,i think the Bowman ring has lot to do with that,it's smooth out the two 55's that i put the ring in.so far i like the engine but only time will tell.
i would like to try a Falcon 24-8 but hate to spend that kind of money to find out i don't like it.

john911 said he was getting 6750-6900 on both the Vess 24a and 24b.the 23a might be to much under prop.if i was going to try a Vess, which i might do, i would try the 24-a,a lot cheaper to by than a Falcon carbon.

just an update,i had to replace a used cm6 plug that i put in the engine, to get rid of a miss i had with a new cm6.and had to put a remote breather tube on the diaphragm cover on the carb to get rid of a rich running carb at low speed.
engine is running better than ever now,if it holds up i will be selling my BME58's and the DLE55's i have.

got almost three gals, through the 60 now, ring is still not competely seated due to that i am using 32-1 redline, just takes a little longer.rpm's have not change to much, just a little increase.
still like the Xoar 23-8 the best, tried a Bolly 23-8 and it just rip the prop bad, didn't like that prop at all.

with the limited data we can get on this motor, are these better than a DLE55 for power? or near a DA60?

Anyone tried or seen a 120 yet?
