Bob, depends on what you're looking for. There are convenience stores near the freeway exits. Department/big box stores are in Bakersfield, which is about 15 minutes away.

Thanks, just looking a place to buy ice, drinks, etc. Don't need a big box store.

I see you live in Morgan Hill. I will be going near where you live on my way to Saratoga to pick up an airplane then head down to the event.

I'm heading to Dallas now to help finish the F5 and load trailer. Leaving for BITW sometime Sunday morning. When you leave Dallas, what route are you taking?

I wonder what a gallon of gas is at that Chevron by IHOP? It's always ridiculously priced as they've got'cha held hostage in the middle of nowhere. Looking forward to a fun weekend.
Hillclimbers be warned. I am going to want to mount a GoPro (gaffers tape the camera itself...no housing) to a hillclimber. Please be nice to me when I ask :-)

Does a 40 pound rafale with 60 pounds of thrust installed qualify as a hillclimber???

Too bad I won't make it. My 24 pound Ultra Flash with a 40+ pound P180rx in it is a major hill climber, even right off the runway....kinda silly really, but a real blast to fly.

Only 5.49 for regular as of yesterday!! The Chevron just north of it is 4.69.

For those traveling the gasbuddy app comes in handy.

Hi Paul,

You're welcome to attach your GoPro to my UF. I carry a lot of fuel and can easily fly 13-14 minutes. So you should be able to get good footage of all the hill climbers taking off and landing.

I'm stocked Boomer kits now, so if you want one, come see me!! After some personal business here in Dallas today, I'll be hitting the road in the morning.

Bob O,
I'd like to do I-10, but I think I-40 may be it; I'll call you tonight and see what your plans are.
