Exceed Racing Spider 1300
Anybody got comments on this R/C Boat that is sold by NitroRCX.com?? The pros and cons/ feedback from experience or word of mouth!!! I imagine it would look really good on the water for a R/C Boat at almost 4ft long.. But looks aint nothin if it won't run good..

You get what you pay for, unfortunately the reputation of these boats is not good.

I haven't seen them run but have seen them for sale at the Toledo show. I stood back laughing to myself when listening to a salesman's spiel about how fast it would go, etc. when I knew that he was blowing smoke up the prospective buyers skirt. When you can buy this boat for around what most of us spend for a hull only, you know that there is some serious corner cutting going on.

RE: Exceed Racing Spider 1300
U are correct Ron. I knew the cost was cheap but I just wanted it as a starter gas boat. If anyone has ant info on different props I would appreciate it. Seems it needs some more bow lift no matter where u set the prop height. Would a smaller diameter 3 blade with a little more pitch help? Any info would be appreciated. I have a modified motor for it but haven't swapped them out yet. Was gonna go methanol but some say just use nitro and no mods needed for volume of fuel..

RE: Exceed Racing Spider 1300
Thanks Ron. Yeah it really seems that the prop is too big but I guess they do that to keep people from puking the motor. I doesn't seem the motor is really getting in the power band to really get the air packed under the boat so it will "get off the watergo with ". Think I will switch to a copper beryllium 3 blade and see if it helps. Any info on a good source for propellers?

With you being in the experimenting stage and want some low cost ones that are already balanced and fairly well sharpened, try www.zippkits.com . I've tried several of his props and they seem to work well. I've run his 6717/3 and 1472 among others.

What power band? With the supplied muffler I would guess you aren't going to see any great improvement in rpm. I hope you have a proper tuned pipe with the mod motor.
