I can´t see the idea of this engine (big and heavy).
But after they have sold 250 pieces they will make an upgrade of this one(I think).
And it will be P120-RXI and this one will be a hit

I know there are benefits to having internal components etc but adding more weight behind the CG location (assuming most turbines sit well behind this point) makes options to move items like pump and solenoids forward to help save lead impossible.

For the market its aimed at its perfect. Cheap, simple and ideal for many sport jet used by first time jet jocks.
For JC it extends the P-80SE life, gives them more data on any future inclusions. Win win

Why the debate, I've got some sold already, so people obviously want this turbine, chose this turbine and like you had free choice.

Internet so much hot air. We would have been screwed in WW2 if there was "internet" everyone would know everything about everyones ideas and opinions...

This was said about the P80SE when it came out but this proved to be very popular, i have one in a Bobcat and has had a little over 23 hours of perfect running. Looking at the 90 at Jetpower it is an update of a popular and reliable turbine. A good unfussy turbine for models such as the Elan, sprint, Bobcat, Bandit, Turbinator, Avanti to name a few. Given the low ancillary count it will be easy to swap between models should you want to do it that way.

My first turbine was the P80-SE

Working perfect all the time and no problems.

But if you should choose between a new P80-SE, P90-RXi andP100-RX today it is only theprice that´s better on the P90-RXi.

Yes if you have a larger planewith lotof wings it could be a good chociethe new P90-RXi.

But in the same plane you can also usethe P100 but you can´t use the P90 in a smaller plane.

Once the slightly heavier engine becomes the norm, with internal everything, then the models will be made with the engine shifted forward slightly. Not a reason to be reluctant on such developments.

Be carefull to have in mind that you have to compare the weight of a P90RXi with all integrated parts with a P80SE AND all equivalent accessories ! I'm not sure the difference of weight are so significant...

More of that, with valves and pump inside the engine, there is less electric cables and kero tubes in your plane ! A thread about that should be endless !

I think that with good reliable components (that JC has already) this engine will be a good choice - so much easier to setup - lots of people appriciate that.

BTW look at the numbers:
P-80SE:
engine weight: 1360g
thrust: 97N
Price: 1750 Euros

P-90RXi:
Weight (with pump, solenoids, filter all inside): 1435g (just 75g more than P-80SE bare engine!)
Thrust: 105N
Price: 1950 Euros

I would go with P-90RXi any day.
