Frozen Workshop
The good news is we just bought a house, the bad news is it needs a lot of "updates"...
The good news is I now have an entire 20'X26' building seperate from the house with electricity and provisions for water as my new workshop,
the bad news is it is not yet heated...
I am working on the heating source now,(direct vent kerosene heater) but am courious as to any cold related problems with any thing other than water base glues or paint?
Thanks for any help

RE: Frozen Workshop
If you’re not going to keep the shop at a steady temp all winter I would suggest that you remove even solvent based products.
Even though some things may not get damaged in a freeze and thaw, many products can be impossible to work with until they are brought up to a warmer temp. I’ve found it easier to just store everything in the house and take selected items to the shop on a as need basis.

Not sure why my reply to this thread was deleted....
I would just be happy to have a workshop that big not matter if it was heated or not. Thats what sweatshirts are for!

RE: Frozen Workshop
Thanks for the "insight"(?) all...
I am going to pick up a heater next weekend, that will keep it @ a steady temp, perhaps
45 or 50 deg, then when I go out I will just crank it up.
Next Sunday is however reserved for our annual float fly, after all. All work and no play...

TallDude - you'd have to wear so many sweatshirts you couldn't move to use my workshop in the winter if it didn't have heating! Outside temps were 40 below zero (celsius) last Christmas!

RE: Frozen Workshop
Wish I could trade my shop for yours. Mine's about 24 X 13 and needs cooling instead of heat. I live in AZ and haven't been able to spend much time in the shop since the middle of June. Believe me it's a lot easier to heat a shop than try to cool one when the temps are over 100 F.
