Default Looking for old (or new) friends

Greetings all, I have not been on the boards for many years. We have a new home in Virginia beach, so i wanted to give a shout out to see if anyone I used to know is still about. Also, I remember that there was a large east coast group in years past. Are you guys still about and flying 1/2a. I would love to get together with some other like minded folks if there is anyone near my area.

Thanks y'all

Digger

Welcome back Digger.. I'm on the left coast if you remember but I don't think you will have any trouble finding old or new 1/2A'ers at your new assignment. Are you still in the Navy?

Digger may not want to remember that day. His TD .020 bit his Indie Diggei pretty good prior to a heritage fly by with Matchless's Blue Angel Did it leave a scar?

Hey, Digger

Welcome back. There are a lot of the old regulars that have not been very active of late, but some of the Carolina Crew are still reading the forum.

Some of us CC guys are still alive and well. Raymond is moving but not very alive (it's just the worms moving around)

We have been kicking around a gathering sometime this spring in the Burlington, NC area.

Hi Digger! Still got that butter knife you carved out models with back in the day?

I'm afraid I'm one of the 'ol guys that have cut way back on the 1/2A stuff but #1 (of 4 for now) grandkids is real close to needin' some aircraft edumacation. I hope to de-mothball one of the old ones or build a new trainer for him to fly this spring. We'll see how things go.

Rog,
I was thinking it might be cool if we tied the CC gathering in with the SAM event at Jullian. We did it once before with no problem and it's a great place to meet and fly.

Thanks for all the posts. It is really nice to hear from y'all. Milton Dickey!!??!! Al, Skaliwag, Vic, Rog... You all are blasts from the past!

Skali, thanks for bringing up such a painful memory. If you look at the picture you can see the black electrical tape we wrapped that finger with.

Al, thanks for the pictures. As long as everyone knows the three planes in the second picture were not built by me. I wish they were though. That beautiful 010 mustang that you built Al has to be one of my favorite planes I ever flew. Thanks again for that AL.

Well, it is good to see you all. I will try to be around a little more often.

Digger
