Has anyone flown this model with a 61 Four Stroke?
It's within the specified range but I was wondering how it works out (for flying off a hard surface runway, not grass).
This is a much lighter engine than 70-80 size FS engines, so could aid in keeping the AUW as low as possible.
Do the ailerons and flaps need standard servos? I used several servo torque calculators and found out that 17 g servos (vs. standard ~45 g servos) have way more than enough torque even at 60-70 MPH airspeeds. This is a good way to save weight?

I use Hitech 225's for ailerons, flaps, and each elevator half. Elevator servos mounted in tail for weight and balance. Never a problem with any of them.
No experience with a 61FS for power. I use an OS70 Surpass, which gives scale-like flight.

Why don't you go to the classified to search for a Pawnee for sale? Every time you negotiate the deal or seek a plane for sale, you generate a notification to the subscribers that a post about the plane has been added. We then check to find someone looking for a plane instead of discussing some aspect of the plane. You can post a want ad in the classified (buy'/sell) section and those who want to sell one would in theory conact you.

Also, I have been to Firenze. So much history and beautiful doesn't begin to describe. I lived in Gaeta for 2 years.

I have a Saito FG14B (13.44cc) gasoline four stroke in mine. It pulls it along in a very scale manner though I wish I had installed the FG-17 (17.20cc) for a bit more climb power. If you power w/ four stroke nitro I would find something in the 16-18cc range. If you power w/ two stroke nitro 12-14cc will probably be plenty.
I highly recommend using gas engines. The fuel savings (as well as fuel availability) are tremendous.

Man, that would sure be cool to have a boxer in the Pawnee. I suppose if I had a twin 160, I might be tempted to try. Others here would surely have more experience and might caution us against it.
too bad that Saito doesn't make the FA90 and FA100 twins any more. If I ever find one of them at a decent price, I would surely pick it up. The problem with those twins is that the price is crazy high. But all that aside, the Pawnee would sure look sweet with the boxer's valve covers sticking out on both sides. Even though not strictly a scale look.

Mine has the saito 82. I think it flys the airplane very scale like. To me the relaxed cadence of the 4 stroke just seems appropriate for the type airplane it is. Not a hot rod. I wouldn't mind if I had a 90 or 100 sized 4 stroke in there, but yes a 160 would be too much. my two cents.

Magnum and Asp appear to be clones of the OS and are cheaper but get generally good reviews. Maybe someone with more experience could chime in. I have to consider myself still a novice despite the growing pile of wreckage in my garage.
