Hi Leroy,
Many thanks, yes I love rivets well I did,
The rivets are applied straight onto the gel coat using the brass tube and soldering,as this plane is all comp you just have to be a bit more careful and not burn right through.
She is just under 1/4 scale, span is 110''
Regards Graham

Jetjockgb, I certainly hope you are joking. Please don't change anything on that lovely beast, you've done far too nice of a job on it. Besides, I think that the People a language is named for deserve some latitude in the use of said language. Especially from cheeky Colonial P-47 lovers.

That airplane is truely a work of art and should be displayed in an art gallery. All I can say is WOW. You must have an enormos amount of time and even more patience. How long did it take to put all those rivets on there? Bravo!

After seeing the awesome weathering Graham did (photo 1) on the 4 x 30" full-carbon scale propellers made by CARF, I will most likely keep his prop work for static display and fly with the Seidel 4-blade props I had made (photos 2 & 3).
and yes I know the P47 should Hamilton-<wbr></wbr>Standard prop decals; I have already spoke to Seidel Props & Engineering GmbH about this.

P-47's used Ham-Stan and Curtiss Elec. props. Either would be correct, provided the shape of the prop dome matches. I've seen photos of wartime P-47's parked side-by-side, wearing the same squadron markings, one having a Ham-Stan prop and the other a Curtiss. The prop decals in your photos appear to be Aero Products. The prop dome in the photo is the Ham-Stan shape. The Curtiss shape is longer and noticeably pointed.

Hi All,
Graham asked me to pop a few pics on here of 'Kansas Tornado' - These pictures don't do the model justice! When you get up close to it, it's only then you really appreciate the detail, paint job and the superb weathering.
TTFN,
Neil

Graham,
Simply stunning. I have never enjoyed a model more than the Wildcat you did for me. The plane always gets lots of attention from pilots and attendees asking about how the finish was achieved and I tell them all about you and your magical work. That aluminum finish is the bomb and I don't see anybody else turning them out like you do for the fair price you do it for. Unbelievable work!!! Love it.
John, trust me when I say that when you get it in your hands with that finish on it you will never want to let it go! Beautiful plane buddy. You are so lucky to have Grahams signature aluminum paint finish! SO nice. Good luck and many happy landings and flights!
Nigel, awsome work on the markings as usual.
Kindest Regards to all,
Scott

Again me... I can't resist, delightful model...
When I was this year at Top Gun I ask Scott Prossen to take me to his house to have opportunity to see Wildcat live. He fulfilled my wish, and that was one of highlight on my trip...
Hope I will have chance to see this model live too...
My other wish is that I know one day to make such models...
Regards
Mirce

I see that you have various different colors of ground coat before the silver was added. Black white and a blue. I was wondering what silver you have over the top of it.
Thanks for your help

wxman2- That cockpit kit looks a hell of a lot better than the one in my TF GS Jug ! On yours, though, the logos on the rudder pedals are North American Aviation, not Republic. Did you get a P-51 kit by mistake, maybe?

AEROTEAM cockpit kits for P47 and P51 both look to use the same rudder pedals. A bit of weathering of the pedals can resolve the issue with the logos on these pedals...

Hi All,
Sorry on the slow reply, Well what can I say,I'm overwhelmed on all you great comments on Kansas,it sure does make it all worth while after the all the long hours day's,months!!! cheers Guys.
Hi Leroy, yep rivets are a labour of love, but I do spend a good bit of time setting them all out and studying different photos for pattern sequence.
Regarding Top Gun, well I do hope John takes her for TG 2013,competition is stiff some wonderful scale models there.
Hi Skyfallin, again cheers on you compliments, the hours spent on this model sure has added up,but as they say it's what you put into it!!! there has been plenty of times I thought I was going mad,not so much on the rivets it's all the base painting and preping, the slightest dimple or stray finger print will show before chroming!!!!
High, Neil, many thanks for posting your pics up here, let me know when it's good for you and I can arrange an outing with Kansas for some Photos.
Best Regards Graham

Hi 77 Chickenhawk,
Regarding paint, well I do take pride in my base coat system,it's worth all the long hours of masking, wet &drying then polishing as this is the key to a good chrome.
The chrome paint it's self ,well you got a few good brands Alsa. Lesonal and so on but the one I'm using is tiger paint
I will be selling the new tiger paint and maybe in a complete warbird package, this would include chrome paint, and standard base coat, how to apply instructions and then the dirt wash and other tips hints, or the complete Heavy Metal package all of the above but with Markings and stencils to suit your next project,it's something I'm working on. just got to find out if any interest.
Hi EESAR ,many thanks on you kind comps, much appreciated.
Regards Graham

Morning Neil,
Ha ha, me to, the Boss has all the paint charts out again, O joy!!!! I keep on saying I could paint the front room out in a nice shade of Chrome and a bit of weathering
Yep I will keep you posted, still got a bit to do on Kansas, just adding all the panel ref numbers then the final weathering with the airbrush and so on,and then the Cockpit and Pilot.
Regards Graham

Great looking build!
I am looking into doing a silver painted Meister Scale 47 and was curious if you could give me a bit of detail on how you make the panels a different shade. I love that. From the pictures I think I have an idea, but wanted to make sure before I start. How did you pick your colors and what type of silver paint did you use would be helpful.
Thank you!
PJ

Hi Scott, thanks for the comments on the artwork. I always get nervous when Graham comes on the phone which his requests. You never know what he is going to ask for and it certainly won't be a "vanilla" variant he's after
Naturally the finish you see on the model is a combination of masks and Graham's artistic skills, so I can't claim all the credit it has to be shared!
I am just working on a selection of additional markings for Graham to finish the markings off. I my even Americanise sorry Americanize, the Tyre . . . sorry Tire cock up.
Later . . . .
