The Bearcat is parked in the basement for winter and she's still my favorite, but I'll move on to other projects for a while. I do plan to finish it properly with glass and paint and I've been slowly studying SolidWorks with the aim of creating a 3D model of the TF kit. Good intentions, but I need to finish my T-28 before I break open a new box.

Thanks , your build has been very proffesional and will help me when I start .

I ruined my canopy this morning trying to get a dent out , I've sent dionysusbacchus a PM to try get another , a royal one also seems to be a option as the plane is more or less the same size.

Good luck with the T-28

I just read your whole build today. Great read. What happened at the end? Did you ever finish it? Do you have pictures?
I agree thata glass finish is better but Monocoat gets it in the air faster.
Did you finish youCAD drawings of the parts? Is there any place to get the plans after 30+ years?
Thanks for your post its inspiring to read on a winter day!

You can still special order the plans from Top Flite. There are copies of the instruction manual available too.

Thanks for that link, you just saved me a bunch of grief...

I'm going to convert to electric and found this thread to be especially informative. It's good to see others take that plunge of cutting out battery hatches, you just gotta gut through it. Damn sure worth it though...

I hope Chinook got to fly it, that was a great build...

Hey guys,

Got2retire here... I love a good challenge...

Here it is...

Bought a red box top flite f8f bearcat at a flea market ($15). Condition " salvageable, maybe"? Fuselage built, pretty well done... Wing, partially completed, not the best but salvageable...Canopy and cowling are there and good.. One wire landing gear...Some of the wood seems to be there, along with 4 page construction manual(???), but beyond that no plans. So here's where I could use some assistance.

Not sure there ever where “plans with the kit”. Although plans (????) seem to be available from Aerofred and others…. Again????

Anyone with plans willing to have a copy made, I would be grateful and would compensate you for time and trouble.

All my flying buddies have said, "trash it".... The gauntlet has been established...hahaha

Thanks for reading and any reply,

Got2retire (actually and finally) did….
