If you're serious about buying this engine, send Dave a PM.
That's the way that guys who are genuinely interested move forward
but if you're just a "tire kicker", then never mind..

Combatpig why is it that last couple of months every time I read a post you have something negative to say about someone or just attack everything insight. I don't get it at all, are you the great controller of rcu now and life in general. If so I missed the memo,
Chill my friend just sayin.

Tell you what...if you find me lying about something then that is a serious charge and it's definitely something to be ashamed of.
OTOH, if you see me being outspoken for things I believe in and you don't like that...there's not much I can do, or will do about that.

I see the point In some of the other posts but here you just jumped on the guy for no reason.
So what he wanted to know how much the engine was, after all it was posted here.
Anyhow looks like you are getting older and need a place to vent, I guess this is as good of a place as any other.
I used to pay attention to your posts in the past because they were knowledgable and positive, but everything changes I guess.

The engine is listed on an auction site, so (a) obviously he wants as much as he can get for it, (b) you are not supposed to make deals publicly on this forum, (c) you are not supposed to make private deals for items listed on said auction site, and (d) why would he reveal his target price for an item up for auction?

Other than that it was a valid question.

I agree with you and you give a valid answer, but it should come from the seller since he put it here to get some views for his item and naturally some questions should be expected

Thanks MJD. You'd make a pretty good lawyer .....

Haikt, I have a little bit of "history" with the guy that you think I "jumped on" for no reason...so that's my lame excuse for that.
Otherwise, I appreciate being given a "heads up" from someone like DaveN about an engine he has for sale because I know what he would sell is going to be a straight up, honest deal. I also understand RCU not wanting the forums to get cluttered with advertisements, but nobody could accuse this forum of being over run with too much message traffic the past few years.

Ooh, that hurts! [8D]

Last I looked the engine was up to $177.50. With the typical last minute surge I'm sure someone will raise the bar to $200-225. Not me, I'm trying to come to grips with my engine buying addiction.

Although I really want a good F2A .15. Or an MB40. (no! no! no more engines!)

haikt - no harm, malice or insult intended by my comment, but yeah I was stirring the pot for fun by playing tongue-in-cheek lawyer. It was just someone asking a question, perhaps not a well thought out question... but just a question nonetheless.

$225 would be a pretty solid deal if the engine still has decent life left in it. They have built a freeway off ramp DIRECTLY opposite from the 100 acre field that I fly "speed" at...so obviously there is something BIG planned for that field...
So....I've got as many speed engines as I'll need it looks like. Very few suitable places to fly it...might have to move to the high desert on the other side of the mountains east of here.

Vic, that engine will confuse archeologists when they find it among the ancient Indian artifacts that lay under your flying site right now.

I don't think much of that practice, allowed or not. Either it's an auction or it ain't. Waste of time watching it.

I thought it had a buy it now price, so all is good.

CP, Oddly enough we fly on a landfill/incenerator that was closed due to alledgedly burning torpedo fuel. That jewel most likely will blend in with many other interesting bits.
Actually I still hold hope that one day I will find it.

I don't think it did have a buy it now. Whatever, I just wanted to follow it to the end and would have poked in a bid if it was within reason.

Wow...pretty amusing seeing a few folks get all wound up over a simply comment. CP, the only history you have is with ignorance. I find it extremely amusing that you will stalk me and go out of your way to make you feel better (troll much?). I actually feel pretty sorry for you. Typical bully behavior.

Good deal on the engine
