Hi Jason....On the following flights will check if this is enough.
Probably due to aileron deflection is much to get good snaps ... in this case, the mechanical strength is higher.
I will show the results, of course.
good reflection of yours.

Hi Andres,

I remember you and Andrew using big servo horns in order to get snaps the way you liked. Perhaps this extreme throw has caused an issue.

Are you using the new wings on your EVO? I believe the ailerons were increased in size to help with snaps on subsequent kits. If I'm not mistaken, it even looks like the outboard end of the aileron is larger than the root end. May just be an optical illusion....

For what it's worth, I have found that kevlar can become very brittle to the point of breaking when CA is used. I found this on F3P models with kevlar pull, pull cables. By using epoxy there is some degree of flexibility.

Cheers,
Jason.

Hi Jason..
Correct your appreciation and very logical.
Yesterday I was talking with Krill Models and the conclusion is do the same as in the large ailerons, a small hinge on the ends.
There are, how you know, micro hinges from Robart, for example.
I will pics about this..
Of course, Jason... great aileron deflexion is the cause of all this...
However, our final approach, this configuration is for acceptable snaps, and the model for the rest of maneuver, works beautifully..really.
Here in Spain, fought the F3a Nats podium with pilots who have OXAI models only,...heheheheh !!!!.... you know.
Thanks for yours comments....

regards

I decided to seal my aileron, and elevator hinges on the Evo. a few noticeable differences, i observed. The snaps were better without the awful screech, i also noticed i had more elevator authority, so needed to add more expo to down elevator. Did not notice a difference with rolling left or right still seems pretty axial. Will let you know if anything else positive or negatives happens. Was only able to put in three flights, had some weird winds tonight.

How did you seal the ailerons? Photos?

Just to follow up... what method did you use to seal the aileron hinges?

I have been considering options to do this myself.

I used a Mylar hinge tape similar to what many other folks did on thier Integrals to get rid of the screech and seal all the hinges. Here is a picture of my aileron with the gap sealed

Did anyone find the reference line to zero the stab on there Spark evo? I used the Canopy area, and was just curious was everyone else used? There are no dimples on my fuse to use as a reference like there is on the Dynamic

Also did anyone put a rear bulk head in for stability?

hi,
jig the model and set the wings +1/2 deg , the bring the tail in to zero deg with adjusters on the tail, no need to add any crutch to the spark ,this is a good starting point , the fuzz shape incorporates the strength required.

Well after talking with several people about the airplane, i decided to add a ladder system in the fuz for strength and durability. this was fairly easy to do, and only added 7 grams. I also decided to extend the rear horizontal brace where the stab is attached. It made a huge difference in making the more stiff fuz. In the masters sequence- the inverted push with a 2 of 4 and 1/2 outside loop 1/2 roll down. When i pushed it seemed like the plane would want to yaw to the right; not sure if the fuz was flexing when i pushed. After adding the ladder and extending the horizontal brace, the plane no longer does this, i could not be more happier with it now in this maneuver...now to work on the triangle snap. Hey guys quick question for you. Those that are flying the Spark, did you leave your wing at .5 degree positive or did you add some more positive to the wing incidence? Reason I ask is that I have almost 2 degrees of down thrust and on uplinks the plane is still pulling to to canopy. M stab is at 0 degrees relative to the wing, and I am carrying a little down trim. Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

How is the knife edge, pulling either belly or canopy? If pulling to the belly, even a little, I would suggest moving the cg forward a bit until the tuck goes away. You will probably find the pull to the canopy will also go away. I am flying my Evo with the cg close to the back of the wing tube and I added a tiny bit more positive incidence. Knife edges straight on both sides and vertical up straight.

Hi Woodie, this is the weird thing on knife edge it does not pull to canopy or gear. This is why I am baffled with the long up lines pulling to canopy

Yeah, the Evo seems to be surprisingly insensitive to incidence/cg changes when it comes to knife edge tracking. I would try moving the CG forward a bit and try the uplines, easy test.

Hi
Just got my Evo , have just take a smal look at and so fare it looks wery nice!
But I noticed that its no wing adjusters in the kit but its a extra hole in the root off the wing , is it ment only to be the 2 bolts to secure the wing from rotate??
I'm thinking about adding a adjuster to have the possibillity to adjust , what have you others done?

Rune, My Evo did not have adjusters, only the two bolts on each side. However, the incidence/ wing alignment was very good, my aileron trim was very close after the test flights. I have increased the incidence slightly but did that by elongating the holes and filling back in with CA. I changed the incidence less than 1/32". Very easy, maybe not as convenient, but only takes a few minutes.

Hi,

i'm planning to build an Q80 into my Spark Evo. Does anyone know how much right thrust and downthrust the plane needs?

it seems as if there were no right thrust and down thrust were build in.

thanks

My Spark Evo did not have any right or downthrust in the nose ring relative to the wing and centerline. I ended up with about 1 degree right and .5 degree down in my Evo.

Hi to All
Today, I've measured my spark. When I set the left Wing to zero the right wing has a incidence of -0.4 degrees or so.
What have you done. Wing adjuster are possible. Have you measured the same. Three of my Friends Spark have the same. When I do nothing i Thing I must trimm the Ailerons. And they will Not stand at O Position.
