Fuji 32B temperature
What is the correct engine temperature for the fuji 32b engine? I have a new engine I just put on my RCGuys Agwagon and I'm breaking it in. The engine temp seems high to me getting up to 270 F at full throttle. My fuel mix is 25-1 amsoil, I was told I should not break the engine in with synthetic oil so I will switch to a petroleum oil for the break in but I think the head temp is too high. The high needle valve is 1 3/8 out, the low valve is 1 3/4, the idle is good and the high speed seems good but I still think it's running to hot.

Thanks, I've been running it with a petroleum oil in it and I richened it up another 1/4 turn, after ten minutes of 30 second 3/4 throttle and about 2 minutes of high idle back and forth it was at 254 f. I think if I keep breaking it in like this I will see an improvement. I've had this engine for about 6 years waiting for a plane so I don't want to burn it up. I'm thinking it just takes more break in time than I'm used to. I'll know more after I run a few more tanks of fuel through it

Harry, the best place to run in your engine is in the plane - while flying.
You get better airflow through the fins in flight - thus better cooling.
Tune the engine for a reliable transition and close to peak at the top end and fly it.
You can then make minor changes to the needles between flights
You may as well enjoy the time while the engine breaks in

Apallson, that would be my normal MO but for some reason while tuning it I noticed it smelled hot so I started checking the head temp. Now that the temp has come down some I will fly it to break it in with the cowl off until I have the engine running the way it should. Thanks for all the advice, by the way, I have a small MVVS engine that's new in the box, I never mounted it because so many of my fellow club members had problems with theirs and had to change the timing to get them to run right. When I get it mounted though I think I'll be contacting you to make sure I get it right.
