Looks like the whole weeks weather forecast is for almost perfect weather. This weekend was great practice weather and today is much of the same. Here's some of the guys from yesterday at the field getting ready. (Pics later, rcu loader is fussy right now)

Hi Jason:
I will be arriving back into Orlando, Fl on Thursday morning from Puerto Rico, I have been here for a few months now.
I will not be flying but will be available to help out wherever I can.
Looks like a good turn-out.
See ya Saturday or maybe Friday PM at the field.

Chris,

Good luck with your new job in Utah. Working with UAV's, right? I'm sure there will be plenty of contest photos and updates posted here throughout the weekend.

Here is a preliminary flight order using the pilots that have registered. We will see how the lines progress and adjust what classes fly when/where after the first round if need be.

Jason.

Curious, will Masters be flying the 2013-14 sequence? We flew the new sequence at New Berlin last month. Both contestants and judges enjoyed the change and the challenge.

The Tangerine event is on my bucket list. Some of us in eastern D6 (Texas) have discussed pooling resources and making the trip. Perhaps we can put it all together next year.

Hi Glen,

I thought we might have had one of your guys hooked for this year, but looks like work snagged Mark back. It'd be great to get some of you guys down here.

We'll be flying both the new Advanced and new Masters.

Another nice day of practice Thursday, although there was a bit more wind that the rest of the week has had. Mike Williams, Marcio Jorge, Victor Diaz and Matt Griffitt we out at the field along with Mike C., Steve H., Jon L. and Dave S. when I got there in the afternoon. I think it was about 3 or so this guy comes walking up from the other side of the parking lot and it was non-other than Don Szczur! A lil birdie (right Bryan lol) said he might be showing up.

Mike and Steve had the new sunspots up and they look and work great, so the sun won't be an issue in the morning.

Just gathering up the prizes and a few other things, then home to get some batteries, my Calypso (glider) and Kaos (if Steve's GP Sequence doesn't cut it) and off to the field on this cloudless, sunny, warm perfect pattern day...

This afternoon the sun was out for the pilots that were here. Only thing is I forgot to ask for was lighter wind, so there was a bit of a steady crosswind. A few of us are at Mike C's for some dinner and Victor just walked by with the hot dogs off the grill, so here's some pics before dinner. Thanks Mike

Hi y'all,
I was planning to attend the contest, however I am still in Augusta and does not look that I am going to be on the road for at least another two hours. It is an eight hour and some change to drive to Orlando and being tired and driving at night will probably make the trip longer. After much soul searching I have decided to let common sense prevail and have decided that it will better to stay home. I was looking forward to this contest and it was going to be my first time flying a 2M airplane, my first time flying an electric airplane , and my first time flying a contest with an electric airplane. I am very sorry, but there are going to be more contest where we will get the chance to mix things up in the air with our airplanes and have the fun that we love so much. Good luck and have a very happy holidays. Julio

Some additional pictures. Good to see everyone this is a great weekend. Great hospitality and wecome. Plus the weather in the 70's is not a bad change. Joseph is busy doing chores but sends his regards.

Saturday is in the books. While the weather wasn't the same as the past few days, but the clouds were a welcome break from the sun. We had a brief drizzle, but other than a crosswind, we literally flew til dark. Masters and Neil (Adv) will fly their 4th round in the morning and the rest of us start our 5th. I didn't have much time for pics, but snapped a few. Brett Wickizer and Ivan Kristensen came down for a while, and we even talked Brett into judging a round of Masters and FAI... thank you Brett. Dave Stodart also came to judge before heading home to his pigeons. Many RCACF club members showed up as well to help with making and serving lunch as well as odds n ends. Steve and Mike have been making sure the contest has been running smooth and keeping the sun out of our eyes in the morning. So far, so good... more tomorrow
