That last shot of the Cessna is SO exactly what this thread is about.

I agree David, but remember that people are "shot down" because there planes were showing a control linkage..............

RE: Best scale photo!
Thanks David, and Teus I understand what you are saying about the control linkages. Best not to have anything like that showing if possible.

RE: Best scale photo!
Mark, your Cessna shot is a real good one.
Forget Teus remarks about the control linkages, he was just refering back to the days when the thread started. The whole concept being trying to take a picture of a model, in a scale setting, thus creating an illusion of a full sized.
For many posts, those rules/guildlines went out of the window!
Your Cessna get us back on track. Great picture.

RE: Best scale photo!
I think you guys who do all the slating ought to put some of their pictures up on this thread and let the rest of us see how good they are. I can't see the point of posting pictures on this thread, if all they get is derogatory comments or no mention at all!

RE: Best scale photo!
I think my remark is a little bit misunderstood and I had not made that remark at all.
As I started my previous post: I agree David
The Cessna photo is outstanding, both model and photo. In my opinion it is one of the winners from all last years posts. Good looking model, good background, great angle and a razor sharp photo with a good color profile and exposure.
The control linkage? For me thats no problem at all. But I indeed did refer back to a period when a lot of people were jumping in when someone placed a photo showing a linkage or antenna (back in the MHz days) etc.
So in my opinion: Don't hesitate and place that beautiful photo of your model even if it shows (in some eyes) a inappropriate item.

Control linkages can't be helped and I don't see any reason to come down on those, as long as the photo is in the spirit of the thread.
It's planes on the ground in 4 in. grass and other obvinoxious items laying around that kill the scale aspect.
My pet peeve is when a picture is posted that clearly shows that the poster has no idea of what this thread is about...like a see-through covered glider sitting in the scale equivalent of 4 ft. tall weeds.
The premise isn't "Best scale model airplane photos", it's "Best scale photo of a model airplane"
I say bring back the old days of Pass/Fail and sometimes EPIC FAIL.
That was fun and the thread was so much more interesting and looked forward to.

Simple illustration of the point of this thread:
Photo #1: YES.
Photo #2: YES. (If you like that sort of thing.)
Photo #3: NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!
It's not so hard to understand.

RE: Best scale photo!
Still one of my all time favorite threads. The clueless that post photos of their arfs here or a photo of them posing holding their plane just add to the charm. I get to see amazing planes and the completely clueless ridiculed all in one thread.
